Hey all I can understand the frustration you all have for not showing romance between amendra and devasena.

These are the reason s

1) devasena is a character over which the story was built upon,not on bahubali,it was about the waiting of a mother and a queen to get justice for her unrecognized husband...

2) they can't show devasena romancing because they wanted is to this highly respectable queen back home and not the love interest of bahu!!

3) he can't show devasena/ sivagami as symbol of love with glamour as they showed avantika.to be honest i could not think of Avantika as a warrior,I still remember her as shivu's love interest,if devasena was shown to romance bahu then eventually this respect and admiration the story had for devasena would fall down.

4) above all ssr wanted us all to see devasena as a queen and a land lost mother than a romancing wife of bahu...I hope you all get it with no offense...thank you
