Kattappa smiled as he entered Maahishmati weapons warehouse. His fellow slaves looked at him and they smiled too. But then frowned.

"What happened?"

"Our king is back! Its high time, we started serving him!"

Shaking his head he moved from there leaving the others confused.

Bhalla looked at the sun raising for the fifth day and his restlessness grew even more. Devasena was not there, his son missing and this sudden feeling down his spine, made him irked so much.

He moved to the military training ground where he found his Mahasena inspecting their weapon. Just like his brother asked them, the Mahasena never once slipped again. They were ready for anything anytime. His brother! Who shadowed him completely.

In caves, Mahendra woke up to a very beautiful visual. As the rising sun's rays entered their chamber, it illuminated the visual more. His father was having his head on his mother's shoulder and she had leaned her head on his. Avantika had curled up closer into Devasena's arms that were around him and Avantika. Other the other side Aslam was under Amarendra's arm, apart from that Amarendra and Devasena had arm around each other too as they slept.

Smiling Mahendra woke up Aslam and Avantika signalling them to stay silent and move out. They smiled nodding their heads and moved out.

Amarendra woke up first feeling so fresh. He tried moving but felt the difficulty. But his movements caused disturbance to Devasena who moved her head from on his. Amarendra now straightened himself and looked around for kids who were to be seen nowhere. Smiling he turned to Devasena who was still having difficulty in adjusting her vision to the light.

"Devasena!"

He called worried. Devasena rubbed her eyes trying to adjust her vision. Amarendra sat upright blocking the light falling on her. Devasena slowly opened her eyes and adjusted her vision. She smiled at her husband who's worry filled gaze was going all over her.

"I am fine! I just take time to get used to harsh sun rays sometimes."

"You used to enjoy sunrise!"

"I said harsh sun rays! I still enjoy sunrise"

Devasena smiled at Amarendra but Amarendra's face was emotionless.

"Deva! I thought I was in hell all these years. But you..!"

His eyes were spitting rage. Devasena's arm around him tightened.

"I am alive!"

"Yeah! I am alive too!"

"But just like you said earlier that I kept you alive, you kept me alive too Amarendra"

She said as she caressed his wounds. The puckered skin, crass wounds filled her with rage. She had seen his skin glow majestically with war wounds. But these were wounds of betrayal which she could never digest.

"You know! I was in a cell,chained and tied to a pole in the center of the fortress! In front of Athaiyya's Shivalingam! I stood in sun, got wet in rain, bled completely, did not have a proper change until Chandrika came with a change or did not have food or water to drink until Kattappa brought me some hiding from others. But nothing mattered. Because my every breath was filled with fire that was waiting to burn him. While my every heartbeat kept saying your name. Kept reminding me of the times we spent together in the wild, dreaming of our life together and our sons and daughters..!"

Devasena could not say anymore as Amarendra pulled her to him. He needed to touch her, feel her and make her feel as words could not do justice at this moment. Devasena sought peace in his arms, on his chest, as his heartbeats soothed her.

She straightened herself and looked into his eyes.

"You know Amarendra? Every minute in that cell, I felt you. You sang for me as I slept, took me in your arms as I tried to lean on the cold wall of the cell. You were the one who kept me going. You were there, loving me, making me smile, telling me that our son is safe!"

Amarendra could not take it anymore. He caught her face in his hands very gently and slowly leaned in taking her lips in his. Devasena initially was a bit surprised. But she too gave in as her fingers buried in his hair.

Amarendra's eyes welled up as he tried pouring what he felt into that kiss. He was in coma where he felt nothing until he woke up. Even after he woke up, all he could think was the rage on remembering the fire engulfing his family. But his Deva had to see their son going away from her, had to go through the reality of him not being there for her and above all, she was chained like some animal in the center of Maahishmati fortress. But still she was here, head held high. Amarendra could not even think of what she would have gone through. But she still held on to him. May be her hold kept him breathing. His wife is a gem that was left in dust for so long and he could do nothing about it.

With that thought, his tears flowed down his cheeks and met her tears as it flowed to her cheek. Devasena's eyes opened as she saw tears behind Amarendra's closed eyes. She frowned and then a thought crossed her mind. Her fingers loosened in his hair and it distracted him. Taking the moment to her advantage, she bit his lips making him wince.

"Aah! Deva?!"

He called pulling out making her giggle.

"25 years later, you do this.. And you cry? Don't you know, it does not go well for Devasena's husband to cry like this?"

Amarendra who was already surprised now looked shocked. Did she tell Devasena's husband? But he must accept, that it was true!

Hiding his smile he frowned.

"25 years later, I do something and you do this? Forgot how Amarendra's wild cat used to be?"

Saying he winked! Devasena who saw her husband's wink after decades blushed beautifully. Amarendra saw his wife glowing beyond the wounds and he smiled.

Outside their personal cave..!

Avantika came to Shivudu who was smiling shaking his head.

"Enti shiva?"

She asked smiling at him.

"Nothing!"

He said as he turned and wiped his tears that had flown without him realizing. Avantika stopped him holding his shoulders and looked at his tears.

"Emayindi Shiva?"

"When I saw her in shackles, even when I did not know of her being my mother, I had an unknown rage burning inside me. But today I heard what Amma had gone through for 25 years. When you people were giving your lives to save her, i thought it to be stupidity. But as I heard my mother say how she spent her life all these years, while I was being nurtured, makes me feel.."

Avantika held his face in her palms and looked into his eyes smiling.

"Didn't you still understand that Rani Devasena wanted you to be safe and nurtured? She wanted you away from the evil so that you can be safe and return by right time. And see her belief has turned out to be true. You returned."

"Because of you! I thought you to be my destiny. But you guided me to my life Avantika!"

Saying he held her wrists looking into her eyes. Both smiled as they wiped each other's tears. At that moment, they heard someone clear their throat.
