The 'Ash' effect
We hear that Vidya Balan's surprise omission from the current promos of Mani Ratnam's Guru is courtesy Aishwarya Rai. It's being said that Ash wanted undivided attention in the promotion of the film and left no stones unturned in achieving that.
The disappearing act: Vidya Balan
Poor Balan is so miffed with the fiasco that she has refused to accompany the team to any of their promotional activities, including the film's premieres.
Ash dahling, even after so many years in showbiz and such phenomenal success, you're so insecure about your presence, that too from a rank newcomer? Tch tch tch!
Jinxed?
We don't believe in superstitions, but we couldn't help wondering how men associated with Aishwarya Rai always pay a huge price professionally. It began with Salman Khan, who had to face rough weather with Hello Brother, Chal Mere Bhai, Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam (which starred Rai), et al.
D'ice'y maiden: Aishwarya Rai
Viveik Oberoi too had his share of flops with Kyun Ho Gaya Na, Kisna and Home Delivery. What's more, he's still struggling to find a foothold in the industry.
Now, Bachchan Jr too seems to heading towards the same fate. While Umrao Jaan failed to make a splash, the superb Hrithik Roshan grossly overshadowed his role in Dhoom:2. We sincerely hope Guru has a different story to tell!
Bappi replaces Abhishek
While on Guru, A R Rahman was very keen to use Abhishek Bachchan's voice in one of his compositions — Ek Lo Ek Muft — but the actor's busy schedules prevented the duo from jamming together.
No time: Abhishek Bachchan In no time at all: Bappi Lahiri
It was then that the composer heard Bappi Lahiri and considered using the Blingman's voice for the track.
Bappida, in his true-blue style, recorded the song in two hours flat and whizzed away. How that's for a replacement theory?

Defeats me.....Ash is the main lead of Guru..Vidya is just a supporting character.. Vidya herself says that it isnt her movie, and the only reason why she did it was 'Coz she wanted to work with the director....SO why is the media clinging onto this small trivial fact as a last straw and pitting her against Ash 🤢...Vidya is anyday a much better actress than Ash👏,and she's 10 years junior to Ash,I'm sure even she wouldnt want to hog the limelight and promotions of Guru when she isnt playing the central character like Mallika Sherawat who plays the most forgettable roles but brags on and on about her "meaty" role in her promotions, thus becomming the butt of ridicule when her film actually releases....
