Anyways, I'd like to finish the debate here by mentioning two good authentic versions of Mahabharata.

There are different versions of the Mahabharata ? 😲
also few writers have wrote their own versions. Like The Palace of Illusions. Draupadi is shown in love with Karna in this book. I didnt like that. There are also few version from Bhim's point of view. The novel on which this south Indian movie supposed to be made is from Bhim's pint of view. There is another novel which was supposd to be Amba's point of view in which she and Bhisham were shown in love. There are many version. Just there are so many novels on Ramayana from different point of view-Ravan, Seeta, Laxman etc. I have read Raavan version novel. It was a nice.Originally posted by: JustMySelf
yes u can try Bibek Debroy's Mahabharat which has 10 parts.
followed by Harivamsa which is a khilla that is an extension
as after writing Mahabharata Vyasa was asked by everyone to tell
more of Krishna who is introduced only from Draupadi's swayamvar..
so Vyasa wrote Harivamsa later..
its direct translation of Vyasa's Sanskrit.
however those who are nt philosophically or spiritually inclined they too
can enjoy Mahabharat if they follow The Aryavarta Chronicles which
is also an excellent piece of fiction presented from political viewpoint where
Krishna is nt seen as a God bt as a Wise man who rose to the position of
mass respect through his deeds.
