She has a good list of hits and one of the finest ,I loved her in Dear Zindagi .. But does she really has any box office pull ? Her films are well packaged with Good production houses and her only solo film has SRK in it ... Do you think people would have watched Badri if ayushman would have been the hero? If not Varun's presence not there???

All actresses have very limited box office pull. They cannot make the movie hit on their own unless the movie have excellent wom. Not one since Sri/Madhuri...the last true superstar actresses.

I think time will tell whether she can carry Queens, Fashion or The Dirty Picture yet. I loved her in Dear Zindagi but it did have Sharukh.

Ofcourse she has box office pull. I am shocked at the results but I think we are seeing rise of the next female superstar after Madhuri and Sridevi in the true sense.

hmm that is interesting

but you think badri would have made exactly the same

.like not even 5-10 cr less if it had illeana or diana instead?

i mean no doubt varun is a big star but can we credit entire 110cr collections to him? i mean lets also acknowledge the fact that it had their chemistry and pairing as one of the strongest highlights of the movie..

and if just numbers are to be thrown around..alia's 2 states opened at 12cr back in 2014 and we all know of arjun's BO pull..

what i only intend to say is that neither of these newer lot really have actual pull..but with good trailer..pairing songs etc..they work it well..to say alia alone brought 110 cr for badri is wrong..but to say varun alone brought that is also wrong..it had a well received trailer..songs..and above all THEIR chemistry which makes them both take the cake..not just one

Yes. She's currently the invincible star. Despite a meh trailer and mixed reviews DZ was a hit. And Shaandar's opening was one of 2015's bests.

No I am not saying that .. Alia did add some value , specially after coming from 3 successes , But If No Varun Dhawan , do you think the film would have made even 50 crore?

badri ki dulhania starring varun and illeana

lifetime 80 cr

badri ki dulhania starring ayushman and alia

lifetime 45cr

that is roughly what i can think of..

eitherways..movie's BO would have suffered if they were not together..

may be movie would have suffered a bit more sans varun..
