Arjun is currently having a flop phase but during 2states-Ishaqzaade-Gunday he was considered a promising young talent.In this same forum topics were made about how Arjun is the next Salman😆.Alia's movies before 2states include Highway and SOTY.SOTy managed semihit while Highway was non performer.2states is one of the most successful books by an Indian writer.Telling me that played no part? Infact I think movie under performed compared to the wide reach of book.Even TV ratings were very low.Not to mention it was a Dharma romcom with hit music

Dear Zindagi had SRK the King Khan and his role was promoted as the male lead not 2 min cameo.Movie had above average reviews and factors to attract Alia's teen audience still could not beat Piku which was a niche movie meant for mature audience(as in I dont think youth who form majority of theater audience would be attracted to Piku) with no masala elements and half the screens comp to DZ.Dont come up with Bachchan.He is no where near Khans in B.O ranking today😛
Shaandar was released during Dassehra when there were consecutive 4 day holidays and it was directed by Vikas Bahl who was on a high after Queen.And if Alia was the only reason Shaandar opened big why KnS fell flat? Fawad,Sid both have female fanfollowing and Chull was a chartbuster still KnS opened to 6.5 crores or something which was same range of BBD with fading star Katrina & chartbuster Kaala chashma😆.When it comes to Shradha,hit music in A2,EV even Baaghi are given credit then same should apply to Alia no?

So why would Alia's B.O power be considered superior? Her pairing with Varun is popular among kids/multiplex audience still Badri would not have suffered a vast loss if Shra/Pari replaced Alia.Atmost 95 cr for sure.Alia can work a movie with good WOM like Anu,Shradha(single screen star) but cant draw audience with her presence alone like Deepika/Katrina(in past)

I actually think she has the best pull out of the younger lot. Both varun and Alia appeal to teenagers and I don't think you can underestimate the power of youth. Badrinath was not all varun's game.

i like alia..
all the other ladies are too old currently..
even their face is melting ..some needs botox
few are non-actors..some has put on too much weight..
so alia is a better option as of now...fresh..
dnt know abt box office pull bt she is cute

The bitter truth is that no actress has box office pull on their own. Its just how it is, regardless of their talent.

i mean no doubt varun is a big star but can we credit entire 110cr collections to him? i mean lets also acknowledge the fact that it had their chemistry and pairing as one of the strongest highlights of the movie..

and if just numbers are to be thrown around..alia's 2 states opened at 12cr back in 2014 and we all know of arjun's BO pull..

what i only intend to say is that neither of these newer lot really have actual pull..but with good trailer..pairing songs etc..they work it well..to say alia alone brought 110 cr for badri is wrong..but to say varun alone brought that is also wrong..it had a well received trailer..songs..and above all THEIR chemistry which makes them both take the cake..not just one
