Akshay Kumar gets emotional as he launches Bharat Ke Veer app to help the families of martyred soldiers
Disturbed by the Uri attacks, Akshay Kumar had proposed a mass initiative to help the families of the deceased Indian soldiers on this Republic Day. He had also released a video explaining the same saying, "I think that our country should have a website or a mobile app which directly connects the kin of martyred soldiers and the people who want to extend help to them. This website will host a list of the names of the martyrs, along with the bank account numbers of their close ones - mother, father or wife. And if someone wants to help that jawan's family financially, they can directly make a contribution into their accounts. That account number will be deleted once the total deposited money accounts to Rs 15 lakh. By this, family members of the martyred soldiers can directly use that money." Well, guess Akshay has kept his word for he just launched the app in Delhi today. Yes.
A felicitation ceremony was held in Delhi this afternoon where Home Minister Rajnath Singh honoured the CRPF Jawans with bravery awards on the occasion of Shaurya Divas' Following which, Akshay along with the Home Minister then launched the Bharat Ke Veer website as a monetary contribution to the kins of fallen soldiers. An emotional Akshay also took to Instagram as he launched the website saying, "A Day I Found Hard To Hold Back My Tears...honouring the widows of our fallen soldiers. Support the families of our Bravehearts. #BharatKeVeer Now LIVE -> BharatKeVeer.Gov.in." Indeed, Akshay has become symbolic to patriotism. First, he would preach nationality through films but now he is also translating the same emotion in real life. No wonder he won the National Award for Rustom this year because according to jury members like Priyadarshan, being patriotic qualifies one to be called as the best actor.
