Sensuality does not come just by displaying skin. It needs the right expression on face, eyes. Look at this song. Clothing is titillating. Alisha's voice is seducing. But facial expression is that of a kid which got its favourite toffee. There is a reason why Kaate Nahi katate or Dhak Dhak have become famous.

Kajol played Anil Kapoor's wife in HADMRH. He is 18 years older than her. Even Sanjay Dutt is 16 years older and they were romantically paired in Dushman.
Rani worked with Shahid who is 2-3 years younger. Kareena worked with Imran (3 years younger than her) - does that make them less respectable??? 😕

There is nothing wrong with romancing younger heroes as long as they look good together but in women's case they usually look old or gain weight after having kids while men can look younger if they exercise well and keep the six pack but it's not the case for everybody, the only reason khans, akshay and few other actors are able to romance younger girls because they still look young, somebody like rahul roy or chandrachur singh would not look good with younger girls is because they gained so much weight and looks old like their age, when rani and kareena worked with younger heroes they didn't have teenage kids, few years later nysa might have to romance ranbir, so I would not want to see kajol romancing him at this point.

Madhuri would have have been the better choice else Rekha would be the best. The maturity, expressions, voice modulation and that sensuality are some main traits the character needed and except looking beautiful, Ash was blah throughout. She neither looked hot nor bold. The scenes appeared more lusty than sensual. 😕😆

Ash is a world class beauty and fashion icon (when she gets it right). Kajol started out in the movies with the famous unibrow and ungroomed brows plus her dresses were 90s terrible. Yet she mesmerized even in those movies. Fashion wise, the Kajol in her 40s is like fine wine, better than in her 20s.

Could she have done it ? You bet. Would she have done it ? Probably not even if KJO and Ajay had not clashed. ADHM was all over the place, Kajol had problems with KANK, I would probably imagine she would have told KJO to the face it was crap and would not have done it.

The whole character was based on looks, kajol doesn't have that. Ayan has most beautiful woman loving him but he still can't forget his love for Alizeh, that was the whole point of Aishwarya in the movie. It wasn't about older woman or acting for that matter.
