One of the major trades sites, I think Indicine but can't remember for sure, said that Ek Villain greatly benefited Sid and enabled him to generate a following in small centres, so obviously he wasn't really overshadowed. I think people were just blown away that Riteish succeeded in an out and out negative role (the opposite of what he usually does).

^May be.That was my experience with the film . bearing few scenes, I didn't like much of him..(Making new fans is one thing, that hardly has anything to do with acting + we all agree that these actors dont have fans just coz of their acting ,so many other things that make them what they are..)

While Ritesh kept me wanting to see what his character is all about.

Yes, RD mostly does those stupid comedy but that doesn't take away that he is a fine actor.I don't understand though why he sticks to those masti kind of stupid movies.

Fans keep saying this for every new movie of Sid.This one movie will be a breakthrough for him!!!.. and when the final result turns out to be BBD,Brothers,KandS blame the director/Kjo/script😆

Neeraj is no fool.Damn sure Manoj has the better written and vital role to play in script.Just for some commercial viability he has roped in Sid.Because forget VD,RK,RS even SSR,Tiger,Ayushman refuse to play sidekicks now.

Considering most fans were happy with K&S, there's no question of 'blaming' anyone. And many fans blame Sid for picking the bad scripts, yes. Obviously that's a major factor in terms of how a film does at the box office, and Sid has poor script sense.
