Lets not take anything from SRK here. He made that role iconic and ended up completely overshadowing Sunny Deol in the movie. There are not many Bollywood movies in which the audience ends up rooting for the Villain and not the hero. Darr is always remembered because of SRK's performance and nothing else. Aamir isn't underrated, he's overrated in acting. Yes, Aamir has performed exceptionally well in different type of roles and is more versatile than SRK. But he is simply not the best actor of Bollywood, like he is portrayed. He also has limitations in his range of acting.

One of the biggest displays of hamming all time. Aamir would've played it so differently and owned it.

I find it hilarious when people say SRK Overshadowed 2X NA winner Sunny Deol. It was Rahul's movie. You could've had Amitabh Bachchan play Sunil and any half decent actor playing Rahul and the results would've been the same.

i think amir would have acted as much brilliantly as srk..
bt if u see the eyes then amir's eyes the best of violence
he could portray was in raja hindusthai ghajni d3..
whereas srk has in his eyes the violent streak..the obsession of a psycho..
darr needed a passionate obsessive jungli man n that man definitely
is not amir..amir is a man who can portray renounced life better..
he would make a perfect Sai Baba type of saintly character..
nt the devil that srk's eyes can emote...acting is not abt delivering dialogues..
acting is abt how u romp ur eyes around..

I think people mistake his acting for the type of movies he does. Never the less he is a really good actor too.

Aamir eyes didnt emote in ghajini. SRK voice and eyes are enough.

Aamir would have done a brilliant job in Darr. He is a fantastic actor and could have essayed any role.

Aamir would have made the character loathsome. Watch earth 1947 to see how good he is at being insidious. It is actually Darr movie with all the obsession for poor governess that Nandita Roy portrayed.

One of the scene that I really hated was when Juhi's character says kill SRK's character and I love Juhi much more than I love SRK.

SRK made the character feel as a flesh and bone guy who needs redemption or help not hate and death. Even at his worst, I felt like he could be cured.

I would have cheered at the death scene if Aamir had played him... 😃
