😉 i dont listen to his songs other than hindi in bollywood because samjh main he yahi ate hain baqi toh uper uper se guzar jatay hain ...but there are 3 sonu non hindi/urdu songs which i liked still didnt got the meaning of those songs

My hindi is self taught and terrible. I can't read, barely speak. I listen to the tunes too.

I use lyrics translate to understand like the Dangal songs. Who knew words like Hanikarak 😆

they both have life inspiring lyrics but they are not near to be in the category of national awards category

They invite nominations from all over and choose by applying the set of criteria they have. I'm sure there are lots of songs that were also deserving but because of the large number of quality songs and of course the members' personal preferences, they missed out. The same happens in all awards world over, leading to questions about bias and credibility. Unfortunately, they can't give the award to a number of songs, though they should release a list of the top nominations.

The jury and even some of the criteria keep changing, which explains the difference in the types and genres that are chosen over the years.

Actually, speaking of Bharat Ratna, Sonu Nigam has been shortlisted for a Padma Bhushan honour by the Government I think? That's bigger than any other award!

i have heard the name but can u tell me the value of this award 😊 i guess besides all these indian awards ...sonu's biggest achievement as an artist is his entry in the statue of madam Tussaud normally film stars get this chance he would be the first singer from bollywood i guess ...and his entry in oscars list for his music compositions in film JAL 2013
