Did Shahrukh Khan really slept on railway platform when first came to Mumbai?
May be!
But fact remains that his mother was a 1st class judge and qualified from oxford in 80s when female literacy was just 39% in India.
His father tried to be an actor and he knows some famous names in Bollywood too. His family used to know The Gandhi Family vary well at that time, as they say that his father was a freedom fighter.
(SRK's grandfather with Lal Bahadur Shastri in suit)
His family owns car and restaurant in Delhi in early 80s. His home was occupied with TV and VCR.
He came to Mumbai in search of his girlfriend by air. SRK does not like travel by train (except film promotion). In his early days he used to give concession to the producer of his serial to compensate value of his flight ticket.
He have an interfaith marriage. In India you could not live with inter-cast marriage but he being a Muslim married to a Hindu girl and that too in 90s. It shows the social standard of SRK and his family.
Now I want to ask some wiered question here.
How many of you rented VCR to watch movies in 90s and how many of you see an electric pole in your village before DDLJ? How many Quora members take regular flights for travel one city to another and how many of you studied in Delhi's high profile colleges?
If you analyse the answer of above questions you will find that privileges which SRK was having in 1980, you don't have in 2017 too.
There are thousands family in India who still not have bicycle in their home. There are millions of children who are starving and not able to attend the schools. There are millions homeless families sleeping on footpaths and railway stations and that is a compulsion for them.
For SRK it was a choice not a compulsion.
