"Feminazi" has ALWAYS been a term coined to discredit and insult feminism.

It's always been used by men (and some patriarchal women) who dislike equality of the sexes. We live in a world now where's it's not possible to say that and still look dignified and respectable so instead feminism is abused and taunted in other ways with demands made about who can speak about it, what can be included, what "limits" it must have, etc. Women better not demand more than the man wants to give. She better not say it with anger or outrage. Be polite! Be nice! Be this! Be that! (or you're a feminazi)

Feminazi is and always has been an insult used by people who know they cannot insult feminism anymore. We don't live in the era where that is possible so it's just insulted in another way now but it's basically the same thing.

Oh man, the mis-information. I just wonder how easily people discreet feminism when it's the very reason we have basic civic rights . We can all trace back the history of how women were allowed to vote , the struggle for jobs, the issues at work-space, dowry, female foeticide ..everyday, at a large spectrum women are fighting against the most basic discrimination, all that is because of feminism and the term these girls through like "bra-burning feminazis" , it was them who are the reason some of us were allowed education and other rights.
Before these girls dismiss feminism or through around the term, "femiNazi" , dare I say they should check the history of how we got the rights to vote, work and basically survive?

Whether you embrace the term or not but if you support basic equality between the two sexes , then that makes you a feminists.

Which phenomena doesn't get misused, so why is the pressure on feminism to be "perfect". That pressure and scrutiny reeks of chauvinism.

Also, good for her for having the choice and the privilege of staying at home with her baby but she needs to understand that not many have the privilege, choice or the means for the same. Her dismissive tone of the choice some other women make is what people opposed. She also needs to understand because she got the privilege of having a space in a magazine for her views means, it would be debated, discussed and scrutinised , part of the privilege she gets by being an actor's wife.

But some girls use feminism in wrong way as well. I remember a Sikh guy was tagged national pervert by a girl. He lost job career.. But later the girls truth was out n she was faking it but media didn't say a thing to that girl but that guy lost his reputation... Correct me if I m. Wrong

Just like people use religion for wrong purposes. Or break traffic rules. Or we have miscreants in democracy. If all those institutions can rise above it then why cannot feminism? Ofcourse it was wrong, ofcourse that girl should be punished just like any other offender of any other system.
But can we ignore that feminism is the reason why we moved away from Sati system and towards equality?

exactly. She justified her wanting to stay home by saying she had a baby and not a puppy. Please justify that puppy statement and tell us how that is not insulting to women who work? She could have easily said she just wants to spend as much time as possible with her kid, no one would blame her for that. Hey even admit that you don't need to work because your husband makes mad $$ anyways, at least then she's being honest and acknowledging that she has that luxury where as others don't. I think that is where most people had issues. No one cares if you're a home maker vs a stay at home mom, the fact is you should be able to respect the other side too, and most women do. She insulted them by saying she doesn't think of her child as an animal that needs occasional attention, basically saying those who don't choose to/can't choose to stay at home do. That is why there were 20 pages.

Mira has lived a very sheltered life and it seems like she will continue to do so. I used to think she was very mature for her age but using terms like feminazi esp at a Women's day event is 👎🏼 Sure there are some extremists but look at the other side that don't support women's rights, they have extremists too.
She labeled the WHOLE "new wave of feminism" and generalized it as being aggressive. Being aggressive, persevering and not giving up is what helped get the rights we did. And no, most feminists are not men haters, I don't know why people have that notion.

I have to give it to her.
Saw some comments on twitter regarding this.

If she was a housewife, people are calling her a free loader etc. But a house wife is never free at home and she has her chores to do. Taking care of the kid is a big responsibility in itself. Feminism doesn't mean going to work and contributing to the economy. Mira will be contributing to the society in the way she raises her kid right and teaching them values. Cos half the reason the rape culture has grown is basically on how values arent enforced into their children.

Mira would know what a male chauvinist is, since she married one.😆 But why is she always justifying herself, lol. Nobody cares.😆 You got married early, your choice. And you had kids early, again. Your choice.

You don't need to discredit a whole movement because of the choices you have made.🥱 And the irony is that the feminist movement is what gave women a CHOICE in the first place.

I am already worried for her daughter's future. 😳 Self-loathing is the worst trait anyone (man&woman alike) could have.
