I don't get why such educated people coin and use terms like Feminazi, libtards, etc which are a wordplay on such sensitive words like Nazi, retard, etc. Are they like in kindergarten or something? I'm pretty sure there are better ways to put across and call out people than using such terms. Why are these terms taken so lightly? It's such an insult to those who have been a victim to such terms.
Also what does she mean by Feminazi is equivalent to male chauvinism? Chauvinism is chauvinism, whether it's male or female. Jab ek term hai toh woh hi use karo naa instead of creating such ridiculous terms?

^^^ Yeah, even I was surprised she used the word "feminazi," a public personality shouldn't be caught dead using such trolling words that are mainly used on social media sites such as twitter and youtube. It shows her lack of intelligence that she had to resort to using such demeaning word on a women's day let alone.

Such regressive practices even in the educated lot is disheartening to say the least. And asking permission to visit family? Why would these women not have the SAME freedom as men in going somewhere? Appalling! 😡

It's hard to believe what kind of people exist in the world. Some of these guys go abroad and have foreign degrees and sleep around with various girls while they're away. Then go back to India, get an arranged marriage and demand dowries. They are earning enough too so it's nothing more than greed.

This is very common in the Delhi/punjabi circuit where showing off money and possessions is a big big thing. They also want huge weddings (paid by girl's family) to boast to everyone about.

It may occur elsewhere too but this is based on a lot of people I've come across.

Dowries and dowry harassment happens even in most middle-class and upper class families and Punjabis and Delhi people are actually pretty famous for it. I know many real life examples of men from educated and well-off families who think dowry is their birthright. Giving cars to grooms as "gifts" is very very common. Everyone knows the term "gifts" is just a euphemism for dowry.

Nowadays they even demand that the girl work and make a certain amount of money that has to be given as household maintenance. And of course there is the expectation that the girl is supposed to leave her parents and then take care of the guy's family. Many of these women have to ask permission to even visit her family or go out with friends. Then these men and their families parade around the world acting like they are so modern and educated and whine about "feminazis."

Women in the west are better off than almost any class in India but there is no equality even there.

IMHO Indian society has become even more regressive in last 2 decades

The advent of large scale consumerism has made the society more materialistic and greedy.
Now the educated upper classes grooms family want flats, HD TVs, cars and foreign vacations as dowry.
While the lower classes grooms want bikes, TVs, washing machines etc.
Outwardly there is modernization but socially, culturally regressing at an alarming rate.

On Satyamev Jayate they showed a woman whose MIL was a doctor herself but tried to kill her 2 granddaughters by pushing them down the stairs. 🤢 Because when the girls grew up they would have to pay dowry
Another educated family forced the bahu to abort 2-3 of her female foetuses before she ran away to her mayka to save the last baby.

In the 80s and 90s there was a distinct trend for modernism and female equality
The trend was even seen in movies and television series with strong women characters who stood up for their rights.
But Im shocked to see these recent serials are becoming increasingly regressive and chauvinistic in attitude and portrayal of women's role in family and society.
Kind of brainwashing the female viewers into conforming to such regressive values and traditions. To Keep women in their place.🥱

It's odd that such a woman has a newborn daughter and she talks like this. Hope Misha does not grow up into such an ignorant atmosphere and Mira understands the value of feminism someday soon.

And what new destructive wave is she talking about? 😕 Feminism has off-late showed so much support towards trans community, is that the new thing she is talking about? Feminism had included to protect the trans folks, that most other sectors of the society don't even speak about. Mira needs to educate herself. What an idiot

There is definitely a lot of sexism and problems for women in US military. You have to have a thick skin to survive and get through it. Though in other fields, such discrimination based on sex could get you a straight up lawsuit. Though military is a lot more internal in its dealings, in regards to punishments and dealings with such matter.

Also, from the very same state Mira resides in, 19 foetuses were found abandoned in a drain following the death of a pregnant woman who was forced to have a botched up abortion by a homeopathic doctor because she was carrying a third girl child. And it is because of such incidents that we need feminism. No one is denying that some do misuse the power they have Irrespective of their gender but by ranting about 'feminazi', a term coined on the internet and that too on women's day, all efforts towards giving equal rights and the freedom to live life without any discrimination are getting diluted. But for that, these celebs need to come out of their la la land and see the reality!
