and I hope men will soon start thinking this way.
Let our marriage ads filled with educated stay home husbands soon who wants to stay home post marriage. Then that is some gender equality.

They get degrees to get better arranged marriage prospects.

In India, getting a husband is like getting a job. They need degrees to put on their marriage resumes because everyone wants a "smart" seeming girl who can interact with his coworkers and family and not look stupid.

It's needed for the prestige to get richer wealthier men with better jobs.

Exactly. The girls in my class at Med school outnumbered boys but almost all of them got engaged by final year and didn't practice after marriage. That is why guys demand that there should be a quota for girls, they take the seats and then waste them.

Lol. And the funny thing about med school is that most girls are touch-me-nots and hijab wearing in first year and then slowly and gradually they get frank with guys and then the hijaabs disappear. The girls who don't get married till finally year completely go out of their minds and start hitting on guys left right and center. It may sound sexist but this transition is an actual fact and extremely funny.

Why should there be a quota? If the guys can't compete and aren't smart enough, there's no reason why they should get the seats.

But it's a real shame if these girls are getting medical degrees and not practicing. What nonsense! They should be ashamed of themselves.

Instead of being useful to the world with technical skills that only a few percent of the population has, they are sitting at home doing nothing! And yes, homemaking can be hard work but most middle-class housewives in India don't do anything. They have cooks and maids to do all the actual work. The kids too are in school most of the day. They just sit and gossip and watch serials. 🤢

Wasting an education is a real shame IMO. If you want an easy life doing nothing, why waste seats that other people who actually want to be useful can take?

(You can make whatever choices you want in life but some choices are better than others. 😆 )

Thank you. I CANNOT believe the crap i'm reading. People actually think it's OK to remain uneducated and just get married? What kind of an upbringing are you going to give to your kids, if being a housewife is your goal?
