Commercial surrogacy is not banned in India, it is still legal in certain cases, it's scope has been narrowed down and there are certain conditions w.r.t the surrogate mother, that is all ..

Oh wait, single parents aren't allowed to opt for surrogacy, but guess it makes sense because babies must've been conceived in June..

Actually commercial surrogacy was under scanner ever since India emerged as a hub of medical tourism. There were many incidents were poor women were lured into the 'business' of surrogacy and many foreign nationals availed the services as it's dirt cheap compared to the developed countries.. it had become a business. And there were many instances were the parents abandoned the child after birth giving flimsy reasons and in cases of twins the girl child was left behind with the surrogate mother and she abandoned the baby coz for her n her family it wasn't hers. These all combined with the new found glamor to the whole process of surrogacy thanks to celebs like srk,tusshar,sohail khan etc made the government come up with strict laws n a ban on commercial use of surrogacy.

Yes, up until September/October, the law had not come into effect and a few articles state that it would come into effect ten months after it is passed by parliament.

OT I hope now he doesn't have to host those silly parties he throws every other day ! His mom once said he is so lonely that the moment he is home he starts calling up people for random partying n bussies himself in the arrangements 😔
