Sorry hun! So much going on in this thread. So many interesting discussions. You are correct about the Quebecois they are indeed snooty like the French of France. Winnipeg is super cold as you may already know. It's located in a prairie province so it's not as great a city like Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal or Quebec City. Winnipeg is a more affordable city. The average cost for housing around where I am from is nearing $800 000 while in Winnipeg the average is a good $500 000 less than Toronto's average. Better job prospects as well there; less competition. Winnipeg comparatively is boring though.

For my own, I would wear a Sabya or this small Jaipur designer who should be huge by the next decade, Kasamya Rathore, she does these bespoke old-world/vintage techniques/designs etc & in Jaipur you've these fab tiny boutiques who do all this vintage work; can take upto 6 months but for the wedding that, and for reception a Sabya. Rest of the functions who knows.. All this Ofc is IF I get married b/c who knows Life. Lol.

😆😆😆 I know.

If I had to wear an Indian Designer it would be Sabya. Otherwise I feel Pakistani designers are much better, their work is just awesome. Let's see what I end up with in reality. 😆😆

I love old-world/vintage work. I really want to wear an old school gharara for my nikkah function. If my nikkah and baraat(bidaai) function is separate which I hope so I get to wear an extra outfit. 😆😆😆

It's so unfair I wanted to use something from one of my mother's outfits, like a dupatta or something but my granddad threw out her shaadi clothes without realising they were in an old suitcase while clearing out the house, since we didn't live there anymore.

Hahahahahahahahah @bold

One of my wedding sarees was peach n gold 😃
And these days most brides do wear gowns..so it isn't restricted to Christian brides anymore. And to top it there are many Christian brides who are experimenting with colored wedding gowns. Personally have dressed 3 brides in colored gowns and they looked like a dream

What I mean is how they even come up with the policies which sounds so universally wrong. Forget the patriarchal mindset, like what gives they right to even dictate what a woman should do with her baby? A child is conceived with two people. It should be their decision to bring it to life or not bring it. In a less than favorable condition ala rape or separation they can go to a judge and further discussion or action can happen on it. In what grounds they can criminalize it? Does that know how painful it is to have an abortion or a baby which no one wants? What happens after this kid is born and parents wants nothing to do with it? Foster home or worst parenting. What percentage of unwanted kids become a good human being or good mentally healthy person? Like NS said in some states a rapist can file a petition to have a baby. It's like our Indian f**ked up mindset where a victim is criminalize and then forced to marry the assualter to save her face. When united States claim to be the greatest place on earth they should have start doing a long time go. And religion? Since when it stops carrying about the children of its own and focus on the fetus? Where is mother's willingness in here? Where is her voice?

i would like to work in the gov't one day tbh, but more behind the scnes than as an MP/ MLA.

As for the policies. Well, a lot of the answers are in your questions themselves. What gives right to dictate what woman should do w/ baby? In their mind, what gives woman the only right what to do w/ another person? See for most religious ppl, killing a baby is akin to killing another person. so in their mind, by forcing a woman to have a child they are preventing a murder/ sin. the mother doesn't really factor as she's only a vessel, so to speak.

and you said a child is concieved w/ 2 ppl. but if that means its their decision, by that reasoning, technically the arkanasas law discussed earlier is right -- it gives father the paternal right to save the life of their child. if its concieved by 2 ppl means that 2 ppl have right to make decisions regarding its life, so if mother doesn't want child but father does, then father can sue/ prevent abortion. this is actually a hot debate as well, the rights of a father over an unborn child.

And when it comes to how painful it is to have a baby, etc. Like I mentioned, sexism plays a REALLY large role in this. Generally, most men are ignorant of what it takes to have a child (there's literally been comments wherein US men said that women shouldn't get hygiene products like tampons/pads for free b/c they can hold their blood in like urine -- LOL like W*F period blood is not like urine but they have no idea) b/c for some reason, religion also prohibits sex talks/ education. So when a woman becomes pregnant and its unplanned, its her fault. she has no more say. she f**ked up and got pregnant and now the only thing tht matters is making sure the child comes out alive. a lot of the more liberal religious ppl do see the need for exceptions like abortions or life-threatening pregnancies, but a lot of the more sexist ppl don't. the mother's life is literally second when it comes to the child.

as for what happens afterward, adoption. however this is where most ppl wash their hands. the baby is "saved"/ not murdered so their duty is done. there's nothing about how the baby needs to have a good life, etc.

I actually think that's one of the biggest fundamentals contradictions of the GOP. Like you support the life of a baby but then also refuse to raise taxes to help ppl raise them?

Through years of oppression and patriarchalism, in many religious communities it has been ingrained that men are the more dominant sex so men must be the final decision makers. And there really is no distinction for them b/w children already existing and fetus. Mother is irrelevant. She got pregnant and must bear the consequences (sexism). What makes me incredibly angry and sad is the women who have actually accepted this line of thinking and agree with it. Women who argue against abortion and believe that men are #1.

And regarding US as greatest place on earth. This is kinda controversial, but that entire ideal began with the US itself, if I'm not mistaken. It's not relly other countries who say this, but US says it about itself.

Also, cognitive dissonance is real. These people only see the issue from one angle and ignore the other. And the worst part is, you can't even really argue w/ it b/c they don't see it unless its directly in front of them. even then some choose to ignore b/c its easier to do than questioning your entire belief system. learning is never easy.

Your wedding dresses r so regal looking. I think they are called sharara big lehenga and long kurta? They are so gorgeous😳 red is also very common for Hindus but many experiment these days,I have seen deep green with gold sequence and Royal Navy blue. They look good as well.

Lighter color plus heavy jewelry looks ❤️
