@bold -- LOL what do you mean? Do you mean technically? Because then policy is shaped generally by the parties and it then presented to congress (both House+Senate) who discuss it (sometimes even come up w/ their own distinct versions of the same bill LOL) which is then attempted to be combined and then given to vote.

Usually, the party that holds the majority is able to get most of their agenda passed and the president just signs bill in law. Regarding Trump as his executive orders, EO are a way of by-passing the time wasted by Senate/House and for the pres to do what he wants w/ discretionary powers, not explicity outlined in constitution but still w/ the effect of it. Generally not used by presidents exessively b/c seen as anti-democratic. Fun fact: Trump actually actively demonized Obama for using EO and then ended up issues a host of EO within his first few days of presidency -- ironic fool.

As for how they make policy, well a lot of these people are religious oriented. Like India, US politics is very religion oriented and the US is itself a religious country, it's not a secular country. In fact they say first hand, "in god we trust." and so when it comes to these laws, their hermeneutics becomes flawed and they enact them (GOP mainly, Dems, although they are pretty right-wing themselves, are a bit more liberal).

So when it comes to stuff like abortion laws, they believe that life forms at conception and think its a sin for anyone to abort and then believe that their beliefs need to be extended to everyone in the country b/c it's a "nation of god.' sexism and racism also plays a really, really, REALLY large part in this process through a process of systematic oppression and patriarchalism. That said, not all GOP ppl are evil.

Sorry about the wordy reply. I just really like politics LOL

Haha, I can see you really like it. Any plan of working on it as a career?

What I mean is how they even come up with the policies which sounds so universally wrong. Forget the patriarchal mindset, like what gives they right to even dictate what a woman should do with her baby? A child is conceived with two people. It should be their decision to bring it to life or not bring it. In a less than favorable condition ala rape or separation they can go to a judge and further discussion or action can happen on it. In what grounds they can criminalize it? Does that know how painful it is to have an abortion or a baby which no one wants? What happens after this kid is born and parents wants nothing to do with it? Foster home or worst parenting. What percentage of unwanted kids become a good human being or good mentally healthy person? Like NS said in some states a rapist can file a petition to have a baby. It's like our Indian f**ked up mindset where a victim is criminalize and then forced to marry the assualter to save her face. When united States claim to be the greatest place on earth they should have start doing a long time go. And religion? Since when it stops carrying about the children of its own and focus on the fetus? Where is mother's willingness in here? Where is her voice?

NS: Ye. I loathe you right now too. 😡

Noor: Lol ya I remember after our conversation! I <3 Chanel too ESP their bags but idt ill be ever be able to own 1 sigh.. Loool. P'tani designers are just so good! I too like Saab & Murad a lot! For my own, I would wear a Sabya or this small Jaipur designer who should be huge by the next decade, Kasamya Rathore, she does these bespoke old-world/vintage techniques/designs etc & in Jaipur you've these fab tiny boutiques who do all this vintage work; can take upto 6 months but for the wedding that, and for reception a Sabya. Rest of the functions who knows.. All this Ofc is IF I get married b/c who knows Life. Lol.

Aven: To understand richness & high-maintenance pls look at Noor from now on. 😛 😆

I would wear a full gold or some shade of yellow + gold. I would reserve a mega-watt red for something else, I find red so so over-rated as a bridal colour.

Aven, see the Constitution of U.S. completely seperates Church and State ,and one of the founding principle on it. Our founding father were more concerned with religious liberty and maintaining this, but with there is so much Christian influence on this country, it became part of the tradition. The founding father created amendments b/c they were genius enough to know that time would change,we would have to adapt .That is why they invented these thing to rectify the Cons. Then, there is MayFlower tradition. See, with abortion what has happened is there is section of religious zealots who want to make abortion illegal, and think it's their God given right that a life start at conception. I think this has become stronger b/c of the evalengical influence over the years.Yes, parents should be allowed to make the decision esp.the mother, but what can u do. These religious nut jobs are the same people who will oppose welfare for mothers, so hypocritical. See, conservatives have no issues telling what to do with woman vagina, but they do have problem if they are told to something else. I think this strong opposition has to growing catholicism influence. In South America, a 9 year old girl who was raped was forced to have a child.America is very religious country, that is where people fail to understand. What can u do?Roe vs Wade is something the right wing nut job want to over turn.
