well said!
the first time when I saw the movie, I felt this not going to be a big hit. i felt it might get a clean hit tag due to its opening collection. the movie received strictly average reviews.
i loved shah in the movie more than the movie itself. i can still watch the movie again, only cos of shah. the ones who are neutral...its hard to find those neutral ones these days, they are going to like shah here and movie maybe, maybe not. and of course haters gonna hate him as usual.
the movie was flawed, it does not have universal feel, the kids are not going for this one, the women are also staying away, i don't know why some shouting this one for single screeners, i say not, it was a bit dark movie, gritty at times, the subject not going to be like by all. this is not your typical masala show.
ppl rushed to see it once, cos of shah , and superb trailer. the repeat show is not going to happen for this movie.
and yes there is kaabil too...which i have seen last night, is nothing more than an average affair. hritik's crying gets on my nerves as usual. but it is few notches above his previous MD, and epic bang bang. but don't tell me kaabil is some out of this world movie, and it is getting some super hit tag. its good thing it released with raees, with some controversy and haters rallying movie got decent WOM. trust me...its not more than an average movie.
lets appreciate shah's performance here, and accept that the movie did not work with aam janta. its a miss again for shah at boxoffice.
i loved shah in raees, even with flawed script, direction, delayed, bit out dated feel, and with competition, it is not an out right flop. shah did his job, gave movie that 2 days superb numbers.
i am not going to pressure shah to make a movie for me which is going to make 300cr at boxoffice. i am going to say now...do whatever you feel like, do the movies you like to do. can't be greedy all the time...asking for more, more, more.
i was angry when he was doing those CE, hny, ra1's etc, but what the heck ...everyone on top has to come down one day, and if these kind of movies made shah slip away at boxoffice, so be it.
even Amitabh bachchan's box office power declined at one stage of his career.
shah is a fantastic actor...and if he really he, he will be lapped again for his performances, if not for boxffice. look how amit is doing these days. he is stilling winning awards, and give epic performances.
its all good...if one day a biopic will be done on shah, it shouldn't only have his rise, it should also have his fall, that will make a perfect show.
now bring on imtiaz next.
hope it has ear pleasing music, shah is as charming as in DZ, anu will no doubt nail her act, i want to see a breezy romance act here.
shah will deliver again in Rehnuma, i am confident!
