When the trailer of Raees came out, I felt it is going to be huge. (I also felt, movie will be better than Sultan). But when the movie was about to get released, I started realising it is not going to be kid friendly and got cold feet. On the other hand, Sultan was a family watchable movie. That genre easily adds 100 crore extra to the movie.

There have always been pure entertaining movies (Junglee to Sholey to Khal Nayak to Dabungg), pure art/niche movies (like movies from Satyajit Roy. Sorry. Your 'Fan' might not make it there).

But along with this mainstream movies and parallel movies, there has always been another class present. Bridge movies.

This had entertaining/escapist factor (romantic story, melodious songs, happy ending). But the leads were commoners, whose problems were real and connectable. These movies could package a commoner's real problems/ethical dilemmas with a sweet romantic story. This is the common theme between Bimal Roy, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Basu Chatterjee and Aziz Mirza. Hirani is not the first nor will be the last one in this list.

As for Sharukh, though his association with Chopras is more popular, the ones that are closer to my heart are the ones with Aziz Mirza. Yes, they were more of Hirani type. (Commoners problems, simple solutions). But hei, I never claimed myself to be intellectual. So for me, these escapist movies are fine.

Yeah thats another thing, SK and AK (correct me if im wrong) have always been a lot more humble about their success, SRK has always been well, apne mooh miya mitthu type, and coz of that this whole debacle is unfortunately even more embarassing for him.

SRK needs to follow advice of Baba Ranchoddas:

"Success ke peeche mat ghaago, excellence Ka peecha karo. Success jhak maarke tumhare peeche ayegi." 😆


This is the most apt advice anyone can give him right now.

Srk should play his age .. What worked for him in the 2000s wont work for him now.. And Although his charm is still intact he is losing his looks.. So what he needs to do ASAP is STOP doing mindless masala flicks, doing tht arm stretch (yes its his iconic pose but it looks cringeworthy now 👎🏼 ) , select scripts where he has more and more scope of showing his acting talent, and play his age like Aamir did in dangal.. If he doesnt realise soon enough tht what works for Salman WON'T work for him,what USED to work for him long ago won't work for him now.. Then I.m sorry to say he 'll be finished . And this comes from a die hard SRKian who is mad at SRK for choosing all the wrong scripts and ruining his career to this level.. 🤢
Just yesterday my mom was watching Gerua video and she said why is srk doing all these films.. Why is he ruining his career.. Why is he shying away rom playing a 50 yr old and continuing to play 25 yr olds? This really saddened me .. Coz my mom has been the biggest srk fan i ever saw in my childhood.. And now she isnt evn interested in watching his movies.. Such is the state of SRK's credibility.. He fooled and hurt the audience way too many times.. And now the same people who used to celebrate srk's films like festivals, recite his dialogues and made thm a rage, dance on his songs and make them huge chartbusters, and watch his films regardless of anything else... Now think thrice before watching his films... Its really sad and shocking to see SRK in this phase.. But then.. Every up is followed by a down, and every down is again followed by an up.. So i hope against hope that THE SHAHRUKH KHAN .. Rises again after this fall.. Fights against all odds and recovers from this phase like a WINNER.. And reminds evryone that he is KING KHAN for a reason 👍🏼 ⭐️

See I love SRK and I am his fan . I want him to do well and that's why I also have to accept he isn't what he used to be. I think he took BO failures to his heart and couldn't ignore Aamir and salman rising; them rising does not diminish who he is.

As a star, I believe he has movies that have a huge level of repeat value more than Aamir and salman but issue is none of these movies have been released in the past few years , it was a long time ago. Personally, I liked Raees and can't understand what went wrong but like others have said , he needs to look at the whole movie and script. It's not too late. He shouldn't try so hard that he has to prove he is a good actor ( we know he is) or that he is BO king, that's when success will come to him.

I think he is taking the right steps now , even if they're baby ones. Moving Raees was the right choice because it couldn't have competed with Sultan and him doing that shows me that he's not a egoistic man as many would believe but is in a realistic frame of mind.

He needs to choose better scripts that is all
