It's Bollywood movie folks !!
So if movie is Hero centric, his side will be highlighted and if it's Actress centered, her trauma would be highlighted. There are no logic except who is the Hero of this movie .

They could have chopped off that line. WTH!
It's 2017!!! A raped woman asking her hubby..am I not the same for you is disturbing regardless of the answer or reaction of hubby!

I don't feel like watching the movie just because of the rape subject. Yes I am an escapist, judge me!

But the trauma was of the heroine and I think the hero can still be a hero by standing up for his heroine which is what Hrithik in the movie seems to have done but for that brief slip in forgetting that his wife was blind and that he has to vocalize his emotions lest she may misunderstand especially in the vulnerable state that she is in...There shouldn't actually be a question of whose trauma has been more highlighted...

Rape in movies and dramas are NEVER shown properly with justice to the victim.. having seen many rape victims personally, this is something that I know for sure which is why I refrain from watching any movie drama or movie featurung rape.. Udaari being a notable exception

@cricketfan1: I think a big part of whether this movie will resonate with you or not is if you think the characterization of Su is consistent. I thought it was all over the map and that's why I couldn't really buy into the story.

But the whole crux of the story is Hero is not complete in Bollywood sense of what makes hero. He is not a macho guy taking down people who hurt his family. He is visually impaired man who is vulnerable and is aware of his limitation. His first instinct is what he always has right from the day he found out he is blind. That of a helpless man in world where eyes are important.

He does try to help her out. People take different approach to how they handle repeated tragedies. Sometime they seem ok and try to put their past behind and fall apart inside. Some show outward shock and then grow resolute. The tragedy is if Supriya had waited even 1 more day, she would have found a husband who is much stronger than what he was night before. Did it occur to anyone that his brain may have stored the words but not processed it. The brain may have been shut down in grief.

Actually the expectation that Bollywood revenge movie should be so well rounded that every emotion are shown on screen are bit too much. The story starts from male POV- so it is but natural it will progress on that arc. The truth is I wished Supriya was alive and helped Hritikh's character in kicking some collective ass of people who violated her.

Why is her rape shown as being more traumatic for him, than for her? Why is she shown to be apologetic about her rape and trying to comfort her husband when she is the one who was violated? Why does he need to be comforted, to begin with?

I would argue that the article isn't incorrect in stating that the portrayal of the aftermath of sexual violence in Kaabil leaves a lot to be desired because her rape becomes all about how it affects him.

My reply was in response to the writer assuming Su suicided because Rohan remained silent and she thought she was lonely, but she is clearly stating in her letter that she understands how much he loves her, and is feeling more guilty for leaving him alone in this world.

@ bold - He admits he was wrong in remaining quite the previous night, and he also clarifies the reason was his guilt that he wasnt able to bring her justice. Since he is also a human being with feelings/his own set of flaws, they were just showing his human side and how he dint really behave in an idealistic manner the previous night, for which he apologizes to her too, but unfortunately she couldnt hear him out.
