Mahira was actually pretty good, I don't know why people say she was bad. For her debut, she did her part well and her chemistry with Shah was breezy and a delight to watch <3
The ending of the movie was really unexpected for me because I didn't read any of the reviews here but oh god, he nailed it!!! I don't know how he does it, your heart breaks for him, your lips curve upwards at his antics and his clever one liners, you shudder and your heart stops when you see him injured, tears well up in your eyes in moments, you mirror every emotion. I don't know whether this is just me but oh god, that song at the end by KK 'Saanson Ke' did it for me. Uff. Guys , please watch it soon!! I want to discuss so many moments with y'all <3

Raees Also Easily Scores Over Kaabil In Overseas
Thursday 26 January 2017 15.00 IST
Box Office India Trade Network

Raees easily led over Kaabil in the Oveseas markets as well. Kaabil had poor collections while Raees has done very well in Gulf and Australia. The opening is the highest ever in Gulf for a non holiday midweek release at $500,000 and Australia was huge as it beat a film like Sultan despite opening midweek. The collections in US / Canada are pending while UK opening for Raees was good for midweek release and it will go wider on Friday. The film is looking to do huge business in Gulf while in markets like UK and US the midweek release does not tell much as working days don't really collect much so it is the Friday - Sunday period which will tell. Kaabil is dull in Overseas and is unlikley to do much in Overseas markets. Below sre the opening day figures from the major Overseas markets for Kaabil and Raees.

United Kingdom

Raees - 95,000

Kaabil - 25,000

US / Canada

Raees - pending

Kaabil - pending

Gulf

Raees - $500,000

Kaabil - $150,000

Australia

Raees - Au$180,000

Kaabil - Au$35,000

Saw Raees yesterday 8.30 pm show in Gurgaon . House full .. 😊

Firstly I am not a SRK fan , havnt seen his movies in theatre for the last 10 yrs or so . Had liked the promos of raees and friends had booked tickets so saw it in a big group .

My two pence ...

The first half was riveting ... The dialogues , the build up of how he became what he did , the editing , the background score was so crisp. The acting is top notch. Havnt seen this side of SRK since ages .. The action star... The brooding eyes . He looked fantastic and his styling was fab . The paithani suits , the kohl filled eyes and the glasses .
Nawaz is just wonderful .. The way he says his dialogues , the dry humour and ofcourse the interplay scenes between his character and SRK's are the best part of the movie.
Mahira looks pretty and does an apt job .. That's abt it . Didn't leave much of an impression .
Zeeshan , Atul , narendra Jha have few scenes but leave their impact . The child actor playing raees was superb and had an uncanny resemblance to SRK

The detailing when it comes to the sets is fab . Old 80's radios , machines , currency notes , etc . Gives a real feel to what is essentially a 70-80 style masala entertainer.

The second half ... Was all over the place . It's like the makers were trying to showcase too many aspects of raees's life . Scenes were disjointed and felt meandering . What saved it were the confrontation scenes between Nawaz and SRK and my personal fav scene .. The kala Pathar ode ( the AB Snr scene .. Drive in theatre one )
They could have made the half , far more crisper and edited abt 15-20 minutes.
The climax was expected and well shot .

Overall I was thoroughly entertained by the movie and enjoyed a SRK movie after maybe CDI . SRK pls ..do such character based movies in future so that non fans like me can look forward to them as well

What stays with me are the seeti maar dialogues and SRK and Nawaz's superlative acting and scenes that have their confrontations . Pure cinema gold.

I go with a 3.5 out of 5

Seriously!!! Nawaz was hands down brilliant!! I loved every scene of his, be it solo or with Shah. He is just something else. So raw but at the same time commanding. Wow. I just keep loving him more and more with every movie he does. 👏
