I have just seen it. I enjoyed it. Spoilers ahead

Thought SRK was fantastic. I liked him in the scene where he's comes to realize what his actions have done. Mahira was good but her role was short. Zeeshan was ok. Nawaz was amazing. The fights were kinda ott. But they weren't that bad. Songs kinda got in the way. I like how he climbs up the ladder and the confrontation scenes with nawaz. Every time SRK and nawaz share scenes it was awesome. I think it was nice mix of class and mass. I'd give it an 7.5 out of 10 on my Maroon scale ⭐️ ⭐️

Think it will be a huge hit

Finally watched the movie!

What a movie! Some parts just give u goosebumps. Overall, a gret political crime -action movie, which i havent watched in for a long time.

First half was so good, i thoroughly enjoyed.Fantastic first half. It did live up it the description of Raees.. Baniye ka dimag or miyabhai ki daring. That is one thing i truly loved about this movie. Second half was a bit draggy, but the political game was really interesting and entertaining.

.The cat and mouse chase between Raees and Gulam patel , were so thrilling and it just clicked with me and i wanted to see more , and more of their scenes together. What chemistry, what spark they created.

.The ending really did connect with me. I was crying my eyes out, while watching the last scene. The emotional element , somehow really made the story more beautiful and complete and gave a good closure to his life.

.I LOVED , LOVED the action sequences. I never once felt, the action was too draggy. It was perfect. Some scenes were so raw and dark, which i havent seen in Bollywood action movies.

. The dialogues, and screen play and cinematography were done brilliantly. Some dialogues really hit right in the feels.

.SRK and Nawazuddin's FANTASTIC acting.
SRK, this man, I have seen him play various and very different characters in his movies. One thing i noticed that, he can play so many different characters, and none of them ever look similar to one another. Its like he just 'creates another person' from his character which is not SRK. He fully get immersed into the role and portray the character which he should portray.

I have seen him play a bad guy in numerous movies, but Raees in on another level. The body language, the dialogue delivery, just utterly splendid. His screen presence is WOW!. His eyes speak volume, whenever there is closeup of his eyes. His entry scene , gave me goosebumps. Raees, nd this character is going to be remembered for a long time. SRK delivered, one of the finest acting in his career.

Nawazuddin, was in his element, and he really did well.

Mahira was average. But i absolutely loved her and Raees scenes. Their scenes were so sweet and it stood out against the edginess of the story.

The songs were really good. Before the movie release, i only heard two songs , Laile mein laila and Zalima song. I loved these two songs, along with the Mika sing song, Udi Udi and lastly Saanson ke. Too many songs, but fit well with the scenes.

I wish a bit more of his childhood were shown, or the relationship with his mother were shown. That part was a bit lacking.

Rating : 3.5/5

Go and watch the movie. Paisa vasool.
PS: SRK looked so good, and i cant seem to take my eyes of him in any of the scenes

Rajranbirshashi

Raaes has been watched! A good gangster-drama flick with a touch of human side.

But till then... SRK & NAWAZ OMG! The dialoguebaazi! That swag! That chemistry where both characters maintain a certain decency for each other yet that that underlying "I really wanna 🤬your case". The entry scenes for both were brilliant. I can't picture a better way to introduce Raees and Majmudaar

That
Rally scene yaar that rally scene.😲 *__* 👏👏

I just wanted more & more of dialogues between SRK and Nawaaz compared to the human side. The editing made it feel a bit out-of-place.

3.5/5 1 star just for SRK + Nawaz.

They need to do more movies together

Snatch
watched the movie and i liked it. our superstar killed it. wot a performance. his introduction..is that a shia tradition, ok whatever it was goosebump moment, the whole theatre went mad. almost every action scene was rocking in the movie. nawazuddin was superb as well. his chai dialogue to shahrukh was cool n witty.
shahrukh during laila o laila song and after (dont want to reveal suspense) was fantabulous superstar act. and yeh hes is a chashmish kid hehe liked it when he dance with the chashma.:). zeeshan ayub was good as usual.
sorry but mahira was real miscast, she looked out of place.

overall must watch for shahrukh fans. he should do more action films. dhoom 4 or some other action film please. stop doing romance

Veerzara
Watched it! Going to watch it again on Sunday.I had pre booked my tickets for 12:30 pm show but it was raining so I reached 25 minutes late. I skipped that show and bought new tickets for me and my friend for 1:15 pm show.😆 ( I paid for both the tickets) 😆 I had booked the tickets for the 12:30 pm show at half price since paytm is giving 50% cash back offer...but the new tickets which I purchased at the counter costed me double the price of the previous tickets. In short, I have paid the price of four tickets. My friend was laughing at me and called me crazy 🤣
Overall the movie is enjoyable... loved SRK in action scenes. The only problem for me were the emotional parts...I found them unnecessary. Everyone except Mahira acted well.Mahira's acting was unappealing and she looked too thin. She looks better in reality. Nawaz was outstanding... the chase scenes between him and Raees were very enjoyable. This movie is a complete Eid material though. It would have done atleast 250 cr on Eid (in solo release).
I'll give Raees 3 stars.

As-rifi
Finally watched RAEES.
At first lemme 😭😭
RAEES is freaking brilliant. SRK & Nawaz r both out standing.⭐️
SRK was looking so freaking hot ❤️❤️
The critic who said that SRK wasn't looking good, he's the biggest liar 🥱
Coz to me he didn't look this much good in a movie since Chak De India.

SPOILER:
Honestly i was feeling that RAEES is more positive than being negative. He was actually negatively positive. Raees was not a bad man from heart!
And whenever I thought that Majmudar is away from RAEES...there he comes!😆
Nawaz was too good. I laughed at his few dialogues. Those were actually funny in a sarcastic way.
Especially his "written me de do" dialogue is awesome 😆
No unnecessary comedy or melodrama at all!😃
Many haven't liked Mahira's part. But i loved SRK-Mahira's part. Mahira as Asiya did a great job. He was the emotional support of RAEES in his hard time.
Zeeshan as Sadek just rocked his role. When Acp Majmudar came at the place of Asiya, Sadek gave RAEES the signal saying "Bhaijaan" was too good and i find it too emotional.
The most emotional scene is the jeep scene of RAEES-Majmudar.
Why didn't Raees tell Majmudar the truth?😭 This thing is eating me!
The best dialogue of the movie to me is "DHANDA KARTA HOON, DHARAM KA DHANDA NAHI KARTA"
Everyone said that the movie is emotional in the last half, but honestly I didn't expect this much emotional!
I m just crying and the climax is not getting out of my head😭😭
SPOILER ENDS.

SRK & Nawaz as RAEES & Majumdar is hit!⭐️ It's a must watch for their combo.
And it's not at all a typical masala movie, it's a masala movie but with content. U will get a story to watch and feel. At least i felt so.
There is a good mixture of crime, action, entertainment and emotions.

Ratings: 4.5/5

Love-Katty-24-7

One word: paisa wasool. Finally after a long time a SRK which I throughly enjoyed. Yes there are some loopholes and shortcomings like every other damn movie, but this movie is a entertainer like anything. Plus this movie had presented itself as a mass entertainer and it has successfully itself as one. Talking about performances SRK looked really good, plus his acting performance itself excellent. Seriously his look sold the movie 90%, with that type of look acting effort kaam hone se bhi chalta hai. Proper badass look.
Nawaz is Nawaz, also what an entry. Damn good to see somebody give him that entry. It is amazing though how this guy evaluates movies. the moment he enters the movies automatically becomes awesome(yes directors play a great part, remember Kick) but point still stands whether Bajrangi Bhaijaan or Raaes now. His entry takes the movie to new level. Hope he keeps getting kick ass roles his this.
Mahira looked pretty and did a fair job, okayish, although koi bhi dusri chalti type tha uska role. but than again this movie is about Raaes, so complaining or desiring for a stronger rolee for a lady love would be stupid.

Saw Raees yesterday 8.30 pm show in Gurgaon . House full .. 😊

Firstly I am not a SRK fan , havnt seen his movies in theatre for the last 10 yrs or so . Had liked the promos of raees and friends had booked tickets so saw it in a big group .

My two pence ...

The first half was riveting ... The dialogues , the build up of how he became what he did , the editing , the background score was so crisp. The acting is top notch. Havnt seen this side of SRK since ages .. The action star... The brooding eyes . He looked fantastic and his styling was fab . The paithani suits , the kohl filled eyes and the glasses .
Nawaz is just wonderful .. The way he says his dialogues , the dry humour and ofcourse the interplay scenes between his character and SRK's are the best part of the movie.
Mahira looks pretty and does an apt job .. That's abt it . Didn't leave much of an impression .
Zeeshan , Atul , narendra Jha have few scenes but leave their impact . The child actor playing raees was superb and had an uncanny resemblance to SRK

The detailing when it comes to the sets is fab . Old 80's radios , machines , currency notes , etc . Gives a real feel to what is essentially a 70-80 style masala entertainer.

The second half ... Was all over the place . It's like the makers were trying to showcase too many aspects of raees's life . Scenes were disjointed and felt meandering . What saved it were the confrontation scenes between Nawaz and SRK and my personal fav scene .. The kala Pathar ode ( the AB Snr scene .. Drive in theatre one )
They could have made the half , far more crisper and edited abt 15-20 minutes.
The climax was expected and well shot .

Overall I was thoroughly entertained by the movie and enjoyed a SRK movie after maybe CDI . SRK pls ..do such character based movies in future so that non fans like me can look forward to them as well

What stays with me are the seeti maar dialogues and SRK and Nawaz's superlative acting and scenes that have their confrontations . Pure cinema gold.

I go with a 3.5 out of 5

My Review-
Raees was an experience in itself.
It has to be watched for Shahrukh's sheer presence on screen as he stands tall as Raees, larger than life.
It has to be watched for his kohl eyed look and his charming gait, confidence in his stance and the fire in his eyes.
It has to be watched for the way he romances Mahira, making those little scenes in between, a delight to watch.
It has to be watched for the sheer chemistry between Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Shahrukh Khan, yeah that's right cuz' when you saw them in one frame, you could glimpse the Sherlock and Moriarty they were to each other.
It has to be seen for the one man that has poured his heart and soul to make Raees who he is. The man who has given his all.
Yes Raees is a gangster, yes he does illegal business but no his business isn't religion. What a beautiful message but conveyed so effectively. And I can now see why Rahul Dholakia is known for his fine film making, Raees, a proof of the pudding. The entire cast be it Mohammed Ayub or Nawaz or even the other supporting roles were so aptly cast.
I was pondering after the film as to why this film is so special. The story has been a been there done that thing, pretty much predictable to be honest then what makes it stand apart ? That's all Shahrukh Khan, ladies and gentlemen, as he bares his soul to the audience through the character of Raees.
No, he shouldn't be glorified or even revered because he is a gangster after all, doing illegal business. But to that small community of his, he is everything. He is a gangster with a heart and again, this may not be new but it is Sharukh's innate charm and tremendous acting skills that makes you root for Raees till the very end. If I have to talk about Nawaz, I can write pages. He was just phenomenal, what a powerhouse actor he is. Hats off. 👏
All in all, a lovely film, worth a watch by even the non Shahrukh fans but Shahrukh fans, you guys are in for a treat❤️ Songs were lovely, especially Dhingana and Saanson ke.

Spoilers Ahead :

What a movie! I'll be honest that I'm not a big fan of out and out action movies but Raees is one that has got the balance that you look for in commercial movie! I went for a morning show and the theater was full! Not to mention people were clapping . hollering because the dialogues , the action, the scenes are just darn kickass man!

Let me start with Nawaz , the guy is so good! The humor that his character brings in is also very subtle but so sharp! I'm so glad it is Nawaz who did this role because his screen presence is one that you needed opposite Raees. Both Shahrukh and Nawaz own the screen during the scenes where one gets to see the banter between them and otherwise too.

I haven't really read all the reviews here so I don't know what the verdict here is when it comes to Mahira but I thought she was damn good in her role man. Especially her scenes towards the end where one gets to see her being emotional I thought were so well done! I'm glad one got to see Mahira opposite Shahrukh in this movie, I personally am not much of a fan of her work in Humsafar but I think that has more to do with the fact that I just found whatever I saw of that show too melodramatic .

Zeeshan was again spot on when it comes to his role. I m a big of the actor he's and he showed once again as to how natural he's on screen. Many people have called him a sidekick to Raees but I won't use that term as I thought he brought a lot more to the role of Sadik.

That little kid who plays Raees at the start is such a good actor too man! Wanted to mention as to how much of a perfect casting that was as well.

Now coming to the man himself...Raees :D. Shahrukh has slayed it once again when it comes to portraying a character that is negative. His walk , his swagger , his body language ..he owns the screen when he's on it! People went mad as soon as his name appeared on screen and then there were so many scenes where folks were cheering at his dialogues , be it the scene where he throws back the watch to Atul Kulkarni's character or the one where you first see him on screen or the one where he says "mai dhanda karta hoon , mai dharm ka dhanda nahi karta"..even though one was watching it in a multiplex , the atmosphere was definitely like the one at the single screen theaters! I don't think there is anyone out there who could have played this role.

Coming to that above dialogue , can I just say I'm so freaking glad Rahul made this movie. I know Shahrukh stated that they had to commercialize it a little and after watching it I could make out what they tried to tone down. It's also something that Shahrukh has mentioned in an interview of his but I'm glad there were still elements in it that gave you enough in terms of a Rahul Dholakia movie.

The ending got to me man! I don't know why but it freaking reminded me of Darr. This is like the third Shahrukh movie in a row where I have teared up at the ending , FAN was one where I bawled my eyes out and then there was Dear Zindagi where the last scene between Alia and Shahrukh got to me and now this. That scene in the jeep between Nawaz's character and Raees is one of the best scenes of the movie. The moment Raees says tell my wife the truth and hands over his glasses and chain to Nawaz's character...damn...yeah...that moment definitely gets to you man.

I'm so freaking glad Shahrukh did Raees. I'd love to see him work with Rahul Dholakia in more movies that are grounded in reality yet commercial. Raees has that balance like I stated before . This movie again gives you a glimpse of the versatility Shahrukh has as an actor. I have always stated he's one of the most underrated actors out there. He has owned pretty much every genre he has worked in so he is just one of those who makes it look darn easy when it ain't that easy. His performance is Raees will be counted as one of his best performances. The intensity , the charm , the emotional depth that he has given to this character is just so darn amazing!

I'm again so freaking glad that Rahul wanted him to play Raees and a big thank you as well to the writers who wrote those kickass dialogues . The characters too are so well sketched out man! Kudos to everyone , the writers , the director , the actors and the producers for taking on this subject and making a darn good movie!

I'll go with 3.5 stars for this one!
