good script sense which has universal appeal(means a movie that appeals to every section of audience) for instance, movies like waiting,dear zindagi,nil bate sanata,kapoor and sons were too good this year but neither of them are block blusters just because their reach is limited

He has good script sense and he adds a lot to his movies. His understanding of business and cinema is very good and he doesn't leave things to director. He is co-captain of the ship .

The reason for his great script sense can be summarised in a word: MINDFULNESS

Is it because of his OCD or because he consumes tons of fish (😆) idk but Aamir Khan is very aware of each and every part of the process of his films. The other 2 Khans have more of a laissez-faire attitude in comparison.

There are these 2 interviews of Komal Nahta for Dangal (can someone post them here?) where Aamir talks about film-making. Utter utter delight. And it also explains the mindful aspect of Aamir better than my words can.
