It's exaggerated. I do agree with what he is saying but the beheading part seems too much. I do appreciate his sentiments though.

Its a bit of an exaggeration. But I get the point. Its wrong to hurt someone who might not have the physical strength to protect herself and you out power. Violence is wrong either way, unless it self-defense, defense of someone you know, or the defense of a helpless girl. I would like to believe that girls can and should be able to defend themselves though. And self-defense is justified to some extent even against a woman.

Yes like someone said women shouldn't get any privileges just because their woman. The message should be humanity not binary rules.

"And self-defense is justified to some extent even against a woman."

I don't know what the law is in the U.S but on TV they say If a woman hits or attacks a man, he shouldn't hit her back... A man is not supposed to attack a woman even for self-defense

Some women here are bigger and stronger than some men :-)

That changes everything...

While it's legally allowed to attack a woman in self defense, still if a woman says to the cop the guy initiated it, he is going to get arrested, he has to hire a lawyer to prove his innocence... And he might be stigmatized...

Some time ago Beyonce's sister was kicking and hitting her BIL JayZ... They were discussing this on TV, they said " If he attacked her back it would be unacceptable"

Socially, it is considered unacceptable for a man to hit a woman, even in self defense. This social expectation is flawed and based on the patriarchal notion that women are the weaker sex and need consideration/protection. If society viewed women as genuinely equal, they would not balk at a man retaliating in self defense.

Law is reason free of passion. All people are equal in the eyes of the law irrespective of gender. The law is not to consider social perceptions when it judges - but evaluate facts truthfully. This applies in all democratic nations. So if a case of violence goes to court - the court evaluates all facts about the situation. If the man was acting in self defense and the woman held threatening power - he will be not charged with wrong doing.

Sadly, sometimes social perceptions do cloud legal judgement. It happens in USA, but more so in India where the weaker sex perception is more ingrained in society. Also very rarely do such cases see the court of law because of the social taboo associated with men retaliating.

'Beheading' - the word is disturbing. A man with so much of knowledge in terms of graduation should know at least this. Says things like this and then cry victim.

Not wise choice of words especially for today's media, that is overly bent on making an issue about everything, but he's not a fool, he's a good man.. he's just exaggerating. Lots of parents/friends say "I'll break your legs if you..", "I'll kill you if you.." and all it doesn't mean they mean it, it's just their speech.. and here's he's clearly expressing his seriousness by using those words.
