SRK is very articulate and aware of so many things, beyond films. I have always felt this ties into the fact that he's an educated person who knows there are other interesting things out there as well.
If you've never known anything except Bollywood, chances are that'll be the extent of your world. Makes for uninteresting people IMO 😆

Education is so important. It makes you so aware and a wholesome person. I totally agree with him.

It doesn't mean that these degrees don't matter as only those who have slogged for years and years would understand it. Who isn't proud of their achievements? Aren't the celebs who have no education not mean? Education or not, we cannot just say that degrees don't mean anything as it's mocking those who have it.

I never meant that. I never said education makes people mean. What I meant to say is that just a degree does not showcase a person's ability as SRK said "If you aren't a graduate, I believe you can't be an actor". How come being graduate has to do with someone's acting ability? or dancing ability? or singing ability? or painting ability? or some other ability? Unless the graduation is done on that particular field?

EDUCATION and KNOWLEDGE is not equivalence of degree. Degree is sometimes earned for your own satisfaction like your Mom did. Sometimes it's done to secure job. There is nothing wrong in getting a degree but it is not a measuring scale to determine one's ability.


I myself have Masters degree from one of the IITs and have cleared CSIR-NET JRF and I also got a chance of pursuing PhD in the IIT but I am not pursuing PhD because I don't feel enough passionate towards the subject anymore. So I am not sure if I can keep on doing work for 5/6/7 years. But that does not mean those who are pursuing PhD are useless to me. I have worked with research scholars for my project so I know how hard it is. And I did masters from my sheer love for the subject and earned it.

But it does not determine whether I have acting/dancing/singing/painting ability or not neither it tells that after. Also It does not tell whether I am good person or not. But it tells perhaps I have some proficiency in the subject.

I did not mean to mock anybody who have degrees. I apologies to you and others who felt that way. Whatever I told was from my own experience because I have understood that real education is something else which degrees can't provide but degrees are indeed necessary for certain professions.

Typical Asian mentality. Education is important to have backup. But giving it more importance than that is ignorance. Have a good base in what you do is more important than blindly get any degree and be graduate.

Abhishek had a degree, in fact was educated abroad in the best schools and colleges abroad. He is thus articulate, sophisticated and carries himself very well. . He is also the son of two acting legends. What sunk him was that he was average in their long shadow.

Please don't feel sorry for Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Ted Turner, Dhirubhai Ambani and countless other college dropouts, Mr.khan.
Having a degree does not make you smarter or a better person, in any sort of way. In fact University is all fun and games, when you graduate and step into the real world, you have no idea what hit you, at least I didn't. Some of the smartest people I know, never finished school. The 6 years I spent having 'Fun' in school, they grew their businesses and became huge 'enterpeneurs'...so there is no right or wrong way to success.
