Alike their father Shah Rukh Khan, his kids Aryan and Suhana are keen to be a part of Bollywood too. But daddy SRK feels that his children won't be getting any encouragement from him until they complete their graduation.

In an interaction with a leading daily, Khan spoke at length about the rumours around his kids' debut and what's his take on the same.

Aryan, SRK's eldest son, is a social media favourite. A lot of noise is there on him stepping into films. On this, Khan said, "In my home and family, there's minimum qualification to be an actor. If you aren't a graduate, I believe you can't be an actor. I'm really sorry for all the actors who are not graduates. It's not because I look down upon people who are not. But I am a graduate and I believe education has helped me beyond my limit."

Shah Rukh also spoke about daughter Suhana."My daughter is in the 11th but she has to graduate. She loves acting - on stage, TV, films or street - and, she is quite a good actor, at least for her age. So, I would like to encourage her. But the encouragement will happen only post graduation," said King Khan.

He added, "My son has never shown interest in acting. But, of late he has started showing interest in filmmaking and got into ULCA and USC (USA), which came to me as a tremendous surprise but a pleasant one. He has completed his first year, so there are three more years to go."

SRK's BFF Karan Johar is adamant on the fact that Aryan will be launched by him. "I don't think they are being launched right now. But Karan means it both jokingly and seriously. Aryan does visit my film sets sometimes, and I am very proud. He came the other day just to learn about lighting; not to see his father act or learn about lightning in the first year. He sat with the cameraman without even asking me. He was there for two hours, just learning the techniques. He told me, 'Papa, it was no nice.' So he didn't visit as a producer or as a he's hero son or someone who wanted to learn acting. I feel, 'Let him learn the craft and then see if he has the same love for acting as I do,'" quoted Khan, before signing off

I think if you are really eager then you can increase your knowledge by reading different books. Being "graduate" has nothing to do with someone's acting ability ( or any other quality) . What if the person who does not have any degree knows more by reading several books than the other person who has a degree but with just bookish knowledge? "graduation" or "post-graduation" are just stamps of acknowledgement of the knowledge you earned.

And believe me I have seen so many students of higher studies and professors who have of course phd but are so mean. Degree does not define one's quality for anything but true knowledge.

For me, education is very important. And I agree with SRK that one should have a graduate degree as I believe that it plays an important part in life whether or not the degree is helpful in future. People may consider it just a piece of paper but it takes so much to earn that degree and they cannot understand it.

And if whilst they are exploring, they happened to not really enjoy the industry or dont attain the fame.. They will have a backup so i agree that graduating is important.

Education is really very important and I think SRK is definitely right in this instance. He might not have phrased it in the most diplomatic manner but getting a university degree is so much more than reading a few books. It takes years of hard work, perseverance and endurance.

@bold: They would definitely be strict and mean and that doesn't mean that PhD has no value or importance. You know how many years it takes to earn this degree?

My mom tried for 2 years and had written thesis of 500 pages twice and she was rejected both the times after which she gave up. Many get this degree after 15-20 years and they only know what it means to them. It's something you and me can never imagine.

It doesn't mean that these degrees don't matter as only those who have slogged for years and years would understand it. Who isn't proud of their achievements? Aren't the celebs who have no education not mean? Education or not, we cannot just say that degrees don't mean anything as it's mocking those who have it.

Education is a really important part of life ... Practical experience say that educated ones even if they struggle but in the end never fail and do achieve something in life.

I kind of support this notion.

Higher education in any field can/will make you really effective and skilld. It's not just about what you learn, it's more about the research, the habit of reading, the group works, the presentation, the deadlines and etc that you learn as you obtain your degree. These activities really make you an effective person. There is a reason higher studies are emphasized upon. One misses out on a lot if he misses higher education.

I agree with him on education. One will understand the importance and value it if they put their heart and soul into it and earn their education. It's not just a paper qualification. At least not for me

Will Suhana Khan also meet the same fate as Tanisha and Esha Deol?

I feel she will end up just like them because Suhana really lacks the looks, glamour and talent! I mean she’s just NOT cut out for the glamour...
