Lack of Good scripts.

Back in the day, all the best scripts went to SRK. Now they all go to Aamir and Salman. The next choice is Akshay Kumar and then there is also the younger lot. Even SRK loyalists YRF are taking their best scripts to Salman and Aamir now. SRK is settling for Fan. Hopefully Raees can do the trick.

HIs roles were getting repetitive. Playing Rahul or Raj all the time. It was basically the same character played in the same exact way. Its why Rani and Preity faded out. They didnt experiment after some time. Sad thing is he actually has great potential. He showed it in the 90s. Its why he made it to the top. Baazigar, Dar, Dil Se, Pardes exct.

And for someone as intelligent as him, it's quite saddening really. Who rejects Hirani scripts? And as good as one of those especially? He practically ensured that he passes on the Number 1 baton to someone else, and now, it's kind of too late if you ask me. He's lost a certain footing at the BO, that I'm afraid not even movies like Raaes can possibly bring back. He's still a star, but he doesn't enjoy the kind of ease that Salman and Aamir know they have when their movies are releasing. They no longer have the fear of 'hit tag', they're just aiming records. As someone who I never thought I'd say this for, I enjoyed the last 2 of Salman movies more than his, baring DZ.

His script sense and working with 'friends' got so out of hand at some point that even Akshay managed to surpass him and get the Number 3 seat. For someone, who according to me, is the better actor of all 4 of them, that's really a turning point. He seems to have regained his senses a bit. Let's see if 2017 does him any good.

Lol...this is the best reasoning 😆

If swades was released today then it would have been successful and i am sure FAN type movies will be in a flow after few decades 😳

I didnt really like Fan and I fell asleep during Swades but I liked Dil Se. It was the first Bollywood film I went to see in a cinema. I was 7 years old with my popcorn and soda 😆😆

I was around the same age when I first saw it. But I appreciate it more now than i did earlier.
