The movie 3 idiot teaches us to follow your own dream while dangal teaches us to follow yours papa's dream even if you are not interested. AND the irony is both the movies starred same lead actor. Is not it funny??

The gals later became wrestlers with their own will and that too because they had no other dreams and ambitions.

But yes,I agree Mahavir Phogat did force them initially to become wrestlers.

this is the third post on the same topic within 2-3 hours here😆😆 but like many people have already mentioned, 3i's is entirely fictional, this is a real story, they cant twist around facts just coz Amir also played Rancho who believed in the opposite of what Mahavir believes in. They'll show it as it is. And yes, initially he forced them, but later it was their dream as well.

Its not irony but shows different human facades and perspective thats present in our country. No two people in the same society think the same.
Haryana's 60 old Mahavir Phogat is not same as HP ka 20 old Rancho

Also its genius of Aamir Khan and his acting - to play two very different characters with such finesse and so convincingly!

This is getting funnier. Everyone is going around circles. Same topics, same discussion.

Darling, instead of calling it fun or funnier, I would like to call it desperation, jealousy and hate against Aamir. Their favourite actors won't be able to achieve even 1% of what Aamir has achieved in his career. They ate trying to find useless faults and flaws in the film because they have nothing else to bash Aamir with.

3I taught us to follow your own dream when you are mature enough to decide what's right and wrong for you and truly understand what your passion is. In 3I the father was opposing his son's desire to adopt photography as a career. The father wasn't able to see the boy's potential as a photographer.

Dangal showed the girls did not have passion for anything or dream to become something in future and were not mature enough to think about something being village girls. They indeed dint like the hard training they were going through as they were kids (like our parents always tell us to study but we don't like it of course some do ) but after realizing the fact the girls willingly absorbed themselves in hard training. In Dangal the father saw potential of becoming a boxer in his girls.

It would've irony if the girls were forced to carry on with kusthi even after their disagreement once they were mature enough and wanted to choose something else as career.

i am opposed to parents forcing their kids, but when i watched dangal i assumed the girl's biggest complaint was waking up at 5 am every day to run outside and to train to build their stamina and strength... they weren't opposed to the actual wrestling or maybe i assumed wrong, but they seemed to enjoy beating their brother, hence i let it go...
