Secret Superstar, or rather (Secret) Superstar is the next film of India's Mr Perfectionist and his Dangal daughter Zaira Wasim. And true to its name, the project was secret till the picture of Aamir's new look landed with indianexpress.com a few months ago. Even the teaser launch was kept secret with Aamir teasing us via a video that he has something secret planned for us. The result was this sweet little teaser where Zaira is a girl with a passion, she wants her voice to be heard all across the globe. Her mum wants the same for her but the problem is daddy dearest who cruelly rips apart her guitar as she watches.

At the launch of the Secret Superstar teaser, Aamir also shared some interesting insights. Here you go...
1. After so much buzz about who is the Secret Superstar, Aamir revealed it was none other than Zaira Wasim who is playing his daughter in Dangal.
2. So, what is the role Aamir is playing in the film? The actor had this to say, "I am the tadka of Secret Superstar."
3. While Aamir Khan is known to take time over every film he does, Secret Superstar will come in a jiffy. The star said the film will arrive in eight months' time.

Aamir Khan is known to do one movie at a time, so we never expected him to be ready with the teaser of his next, even before Dangal has reached theatres. A few months back, we were surprised to see Aamir Khan in a weird avatar whose makeup was a cross between a stage magician and a mechanical toy. It was surely a shock for the eavesdropping Bollywood media who are always ahead of the stars to sniff out upcoming project even before they are announces, that Aamir Khan is doing a new movie that no one was aware of. Well, not only is Aamir Khan acting in Secret Superstar, the said movie, he will also be producing the same as well under his banner. Secret Superstar is directed by Advait Chandan, former business manager for Aamir Khan, who is making his directorial debut with this one.

Like Aamir Khan's own Taare Zameen Par, even Secret Superstar has Aamir Khan in a supporting role, more of an extended cameo. A teenage girl will be playing the lead of a small town girl aspiring to be rockstar, while Aamir will play her mentor. Zaira Wasim, who plays Aamir Khans daughter in Dangal, is the lead in the movie, the Secret Superstar. She plays a Muslim girl who wants to be rockstar, but has to post YouTube videos of her playing in a burqa, so that her conservative father won't catch her doing so. Aamir Khan's Zayn Malik-inspired rockstar, who appears at the end of the trailer, will definitely keep you intrigued.
