I saw it, it's definitely a confused film. Doesn't know whether it's a David Dhawan comedy or a urban romcom. I get why some reviews talk about Ranveer needing to tone it down, the first half he's merely comic relief so he doesn't feel like a real character. He's lovely in the second half though. Vaani is fine and they have good chemistry but ONLY when theyre dancing (the dance segments are the highlight of the movie imo) the climax is TERRIBLE and it was a decent watch until that point. overall it was okay, better than Mohabbatein or RNBDJ imo.

Saw it going by the trailer I was expecting to hate it completely but in all honesty it's not half as bad as I expected it to be. Ranveer was right about the trailer being cut in a bad way it only highlighted the negatives and totally ignored the positives which I think was a bad move coz it managed to put off a lot of the potential audience because the movie is nothing like the trailer 😆 and I think that's a good thing. The so called "kiss scenes" and "naked butt" 😆 by which it was so heavily promoted upon is blink and miss actually and doesn't even register 😆 in its core it's a typical yash raj lovestory anyone who is into romantic cheesy chick flicks should go for it 😉 because that's exactly what it is. It kinda reminds me of all those Hollywood romantic comedies it's damn cliched and predictable but if you like that kinda stuff then it's for you.
The positives Ranveer is great, he is very charming and endearing in his act not trying to hard to be cool a total goof ball but that what makes Dharam so adorable I was thinking of Joey Tribianni every time I saw Dharam, also I think this character is closest to the real Ranveer himself so much so that I felt like he wasn't even acting at some points he was just being himself this character was so written keeping him in mind. It's not his best performance but I thought he was cute and charming 😳 and I was skeptical of Vaani but I think she is perfect for Shyra after watching the movie she doesn't look great( her face is kinda distracting to be very honest) but she more than makes up for it with her act I liked her dialogue delivery very clear especially the French and she dances like a dream 😳 there is a tango salsa sequence in the second half between Dharam and Shyra which is one of the best choreographed routine that I've seen in Bollywood. The first half is great very fun very light but the second half dips and becomes all too cliched. Also the music is great it flows and helps lift up the movie.
Now the negatives the biggest drawback for me is the lack of chemistry between the leads I mean they're good individually but there is no spark between them you feel nothing for them despite all the kissing and hooking up it's completely thanda. And to not have chemistry in a romantic movie is a big big drawback coz then the audience cannot vouch for them or ship the couple onscreen. I think that's where it falters the most Ranveer and Vaani lack chemistry you don't feel those butterflies in the stomach and your heart doesn't skip a beat it's all on surface level that's when you actually miss Ranveer Anushka and Ranveer Deepika pairing. The friendship between Dharam and Shyra was far more real and palpable than their romance. Also I hated the climax it was so so lame the build up was good but the end up totally messing it in the end as it went to a completely different and off tangent I was so shocked and disappointed watching it I was like are they kidding? Is it happening for real 😲 it was like Adi Chopra had no idea how to end it so he decided to go crazy instead then why build up so much for it? 😡 you could ve not dragged it and chopped off good 20 mins from the dragging second half instead.
So overall good one time watch for romantic comedy lovers and Ranveer fans (he is adorable trust me if it wasn't for his cute act I wouldnt have finished it) not as bad as it's made out to be but not as great as Adi Chopra's predecessors either. I give it 2.5 out of 5 stars and I sincerely hope it works for Ranveer cop he is really carrying it on his shoulders.
