Few days back, Rakesh Roshan announced that he and his distributors have planned to release Kaabil on January 25 instead of January 26. The reason the film was pre-poned by an evening was only because there would be preview shows, ahead of its big clash with Shah Rukh Khan's Raees. Back then, Kaabil was releasing on Jan 25 and Raees was still coming on Jan 26!
Just when we thought the clash was a little averted, we heard an interesting update. Now, the makers of Raees have decided to come out on the same day as Kaabil i.e. January 25. Says a source, "SRK's Raees will have a worldwide release on January 25 and it's mentioned in the theatrical trailer that will be launched today. It's releasing straight from morning shows on Wednesday and not evening shows as Kaabil."
But now, Rakesh Roshan has broken his silence on the entire matter and told us exclusively, "I didn't know about their date. My distributors said we should come out on January 25 from the evening shows. I didn't know the Raees team also planned to change their date."
He adds, "Whatever dates we are taking, they are following us. I would have never done the same. I belong to an old school of filmmaking and I have given 50 years of my life to the industry. I would never release my film on a day when another filmmaker has already announced their film. I decided to remove Krrish 4 also from Christmas 2018 because I saw SRK's film is coming that day. I could have easily released my film with Befikre or even with Dangal if I had to clash. But when I announced the film in February, I saw a clean window in January and hence I picked the date. I can't get into this new groove of things because I don't understand it."
But now that SRK's Raees is releasing on January 25 right from the morning, will Kaabil also follow suit? Papa Roshan tells us, "It's a full fledged release on November 25 and not just paid previews. Now that the other film is following my release date, it's up to my distributors to take a call - whether to release from 6 pm or right from the morning shows."

I understand why he's angry and he is right to be angry. I sympathize but I really don't like Rakesh Roshan's passive aggressive whiny tactics. SRK has overall behaved like an idiot about Raees, but he never whined or complained about anything vis a vis Raees.
Even with Kaabil, SRK openly admitted multiple times that he's trying to talk to RR to see if they can reach an understanding..he made all interactions with RR public too..pictures, tweets, etc. Chup ke kuch nahi kara. On the other hand, RR announced K4 as a clash with ALR's dwarf film & then backtracked to guilt trip SRK.
