True. Also in general, a lot of people hate KJo may be because they're homophobic (if his twitter account is anything to go by). Add a Fawad with Pak orgin to the mix and fireworks! Perfect opportunity to spread hatred.

I do feel that some of the starkids felt threatened by Fawad specially because he enjoys a higher level of popularity in India than Ali Zafar... media only picks those topics that sell. At that time, surgical strike was the talking point and now it's demonetisation occupying everyone mind and time. Don't think anyone cares about anything, but we get trapped in what media is selling

Kjo is the godfather of most star kids now but most of his career was spent working with SRK who is not from the industry. Fawad has certain qualities - including an affable personality that suits KJo's sense of style, and hence he took a liking to him.

In BW, nothing succeeds like success, so if you can sell a movie ticket, they don't care who you are - Pak, Alien , insider , outsider, gay, straight or anyone. They are very selfish breed. Imran Khan , an insider can be dropped as hot potato and Ranveer singh can command respect from KJO. BW has only one religion - Rising Sun.

I would agree to this. It was partly due to KJo

Some people have a life beyond this forum. Just bcoz we r not active anymore that doesn't means nagrota attack doesn't affects us. But someone has to speak bullshit against members. Not u @tm

It was unfortunate that the uri attacks came amidst the ADHM release and the ban lead to his role being chopped off. So my question would be, why the same couldn't be applied to Ali Zafar in DZ and maybe Mahira Khan in Raees? They are included in the ban too.

There were also a lot of hatred in the forum regarding Fawad but I don't really see the same intensity with other Pak artists. So would I be wrong to say that Fawad was being attacked more than he actually should have?

I don't see any reason why KJO favoured Fawad. It's not a case of nepotism too. Fawad deserved much more than playing Sonam's sidekick in khoobsoorat. And KJO genuinely promoted him because he was a brilliant actor.

But the only thing that irks me is selective nationalism. Recently, someone brought in visa immigration on Fawads thread and argued why he shouldn't be called a Bollywood hero. I can figure out how much of a hared would have been sparked during ADHM.

I expected similar breakouts during Dear Zindagi, but sadly no! Ali Zafar had more screen space than Fawad in the film and yet no-one bothered to diss him like they did with Fawad.

So why the double standards?

That's because Ali is a singer first actor later. He isn't nearly as good as Fawad onscreen nor as goodlooking.

I think what people expected of Fawad is too much. Think about the fact that Pakistan is his country after all. How can he outright insult his country and also risk his life and that of his family? I do think that people overhyped him and this was the reason he got so much hate. He didn't perpetuate this btw , it was Karan who built him up and then didn't stand by him. ADHM , Fawad wasn't the lead, he always had a guest role but prior to when the controversy happened, he began to be hyped as a second lead something KJO couldn't handle later.
