6 lakhs worth gold and 12 lakhs were gold is considered luxury that common man cannot hold above this amount? 🤔

This government is trying to do something good or bad only time will tell but they are trying to close loop holes. Its going to cause inconvenience just like when they started putting traffic signal on a crowded street. People had to wait longer to cross road, some will still break the rule, some will still bribe the officer but eventually it will work out positively. I know dowry is major issue especially eastern India, and after marriage people still want to see how much gold a girl has brought to their new family. Sadly people still continue that tradition. I havent gone through rule but I still see it positive move especially for lower middle class family.

I can understand rich people holding illegal gold but many common people save their earnings to buy gold ornaments that can help them in emergencies. I don't see why there should be any restriction for them.
