Well, there are times that you'd root for the BFF when the guy/girl starts seeing someone else, like KKHH I was all the way for Anjali even when she looked like a guy and I was a kid back then, didn't know much about chemistry, then there's DTPH I know so many people who still wish Rahul and Nisha as the endgame although it was obvious from the first go it's never gonna happened, JTYJN, Jo jeeta wohi sikandar, and the list goes on where you can see sizzling chemistry between supposed to be buddies, and from what i heard one of them is in love with the other in this movie but still I don't see it.

This song really is not a true representation of the angst Ayaan feels, that would have to be the entire Channa Mereya segment. But yeah if you are talking about empathising with Ayan's unrequited love, then I didn't either at least not the way I did with Anjali and Nisha. I blame it on the way the character of Ayan was written, he was way too immature and his persistence despite being repeatedly thwarted made him come across as a petulant kid in a candy store being denied his favourite candy. Ayan was just unlikable as a person.

Kiffy check out the movie but see it as a tale of friendship rather than love cause for me that was the core of the movie.
