It should be. The subject matter is. Yes, you can have levity, there were such moments in the trailer and I loved it, even here the exchange b/w the mother and the daughters is very well done.
But putting horrendous, cheesy songs on rushed sequences, which leave zero impact and take you out of the story, is silly.
Take the song away and give the scenes a little breathing space and then the same material will become infinity better. Which is why I said, I hope its just a marketing ploy not an actual part of the final product.
Raju Hirani's style works for certain kind of movies and I don't think there is another director in BW who could pull that off.
Anyway Dangal is not that story. I will be really disappointed if they treated it like a PK or 3I.
