Aamir recommending Kajol for Fanaa

It is a known fact that Aamir suggested Kajol's name for Fanaa.. when Aadi asked him to name 3 actresses for the role of Zooni, he said 'kajol, kajol and kajol'..

But, is it only me who find this difficult to believe because,

1) Fanaa came out when Kajol wasn't active... she had taken that break post-marriage and wasn't really in the mind of director/actors.

2) Kajol and Aamir were never friends..

3) Aamir said he knew Kajol would reject the role (but she didnt) cuz they didnt have great working relationship during Ishq.

4) Aamir was friends with top actresses that time (Rani for example) but he didnt name any of the ladies...

so do you think this whole idea is planted ? Did Aamir really take Kajol's name thrice? She, with beBO, is my FAV actress but i find this hard to believe

It is astonishing. All those points you raised are true - they were far from friends with each other, but I do believe he suggested her name. Maybe he just pictured her when he heard the narration. She did suit it totally - I love that film so much!

Haven't heard of any issues between them while working on Ishq..That spit incident happened with Juhi.

Aamir was interested in working with Kajol since long..remember SRK's interview where he said Aamir called him up to ask about kajol during baazigar days and he didn't give a nice feedback..but once he saw her infront of the camera he was impressed.. and called back Aamir to say so

LMAO. There is videographic proof of Aamir admitting that he recommended Kajol so i dunno what other proof you want.

What i remember CLEARLY (like it was yesterday 😭) is that a certain Ms. World's PR was putting out false news that she was going to star opposite Aamir and BAM 2 days later i opened indiafm (now bollywood hungama) at 5 in the morning and there was the headline that Kajol is making a comeback with Aamir after 5 years. Oh the joy i felt.

Thanks to Aamir to give her name i remember Yash ji said during promotion time of Fanna he said You guys never seen Kajol beauty before like Fanna atleast i worked lot with her but i can say this for her best
