The Indian army has finally spoken on the ongoing fracas surrounding Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and the accountability India's film fraternity should have towards the country's army.

This comes in wake of the demand Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has made wherein he has asked every Bollywood producer to have worked with Pakistani artists till now to donate Rs 5 crore to the Indian Army's relief fund.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, several serving and retired personnel from the Indian army told the newspaper that the army is an "apolitical and secular" organisation. They added that attempts to exploit film producers in the name of the Indian Army is just to gain political benefits.

Former Indian Army commander Lieutenant General BS Jaswal was quoted as saying, "The army doesn't go around begging for funds. If a film producer wants to donate, he can do it like any other Indian citizen. But it's unacceptable in such a manner."

Manmohan Bahadur did not stop there. He went on.

"Anyone can contribute to the fund but it has to be voluntary. You can't force people to make donations and the army wouldn't like to accept such money," a senior army officer was quoted as saying.

Kargil war veteran Brigadier Khushal Thakur (retd) also disapproved of MNS' ways. Thakur said that national sentiments are being exploited by Thackeray's party.

"If something is wrong, it is wrong. How can a forced donation of Rs 5 crore make it right? But the bottom line is the army's name should not be misused for political gain," Thakur said.

Another army officer was quoted as saying, "If the producers have been arm-twisted into paying the money, there's no way the army will accept it."

The Indian Army recently opened an Army Welfare Fund Battle Casualties bank account in order to collect contributions and donate them to families of battle casualties. A release issued by the Defence Ministry said, "The contribution to the fund is purely voluntary in nature."

👏 👏 👏

First of all total RESPECT to the Indian Armed forces for what they do👏⭐️⭐️...and its a shame that a time when so many of theirs have been lost and their families are grieving ...they are not even being allowed to grieve and mourn their loss in peace...RIP all the jawans who lost their lives..

and finally as shameful as it is(because army shouldn't have to be embroiled in this fracas) I am glad that the army finally spoke up and put these douches in their place...who are constantly on and on and on...about army and Pak actors...like so many of us have said this again and again that the army doesn't care about BW and Pak actors...they have much more important things to do and atleast let tem grieve in peace...but these morons were going on about how army people are hurt by Pak actors...I am glad that they know now that its them who is hurting the army ...not some BW people...I glad that these douches have been put in their place and I hope now they will leave the army in peace...

@bolded...jinko army ki help karni hoti hai ..unko kehne ki zaroorat nahi hoti hai...didn't want to say this...but the Indian community has send funds for those martyred...there are several others who are doing so silently...and its right for the army to be offended at people being arm twisted into donating for them...like they said...the brave soldiers don't go begging and they don't appreciate bullying👏👏

EDIT: Just so no one misunderstands...I am talking about the goons who are bullying and arm twisting.

Giving Raj Thackeray much more importance than he is worth is not going to help anybody. Still can't believe the Maharashtra CM allowed him to set terms.

and guess what...jinka naam le le kar bullying ki jaa rahi thee...they are the ones who didn't support the bullying👏...and that is the difference between ARMY and these dirty politicians jinko koi bhi mauka ho uska fayada uthana aata hai...total total RESPECT for the ARMED FORCES.⭐️.God please keep them safe.

Such a shame.
True heroes like army is ridiculed by crooked politicians and stupid fan bots.
The ones who don't do any thing towards the country are the first who come forward over 2min fame.
Can't only blame politicians. There are people who supports such goons too. Some times due to lack of senses, some times due to anger, some times even due to stupid filmi fan wars. How ridiculous things can get.
Awesome reply. Such a shame, army has to release a statement over good for nothing gundagiri.

Indian Army Veteran's Post Argues Why Ban On Pakistani Artistes May Be Right

The Uri attacks and the subsequent developments - diplomatic impasse, temporarily banning Pakistani artists in India, surgical strikes, terror strike in Baramulla - have angered and pained people on both sides of the border.

The banning of Pakistani actors particularly attracted mixed reactions from people within and outside the film industry.

While many from the Hindi film industry, including producer, director Karan Johar, actor Salman Khan, veteran actor Om Puri, came out in support of Pakistani actors, a large section of people on social media believes that the decision to ban the actors was right.

And while debate and discussion on whether or not the decision to ban the Pakistani artistes was a step in the right direction is ongoing, an Indian army veteran, Major Gaurav Arya, has shared his opinion on the matter.

An alumni of St. Stephens College Delhi, Arya, joined the Indian Army in 1993 and served with 17 Kumaon Regiment in various operational areas including Kashmir.

In a detailed post, Arya lists down several reasons as to why banning the Pakistani artistes might just be the right move.

He writes, "For 70 years, Pakistan has been killing Indian citizens. Are we so inured to the pain of our fellow brethren that making a movie or playing a cricket match takes precedence over a soldier's mourning home? 18 families have been shattered like glass. Not a word for them by our Bollywood royalty, mind you. But the pain of Fawad Khan's departure is too much to bear, it seems. A tweet in support of Pakistani artists is mandatory."

In a few paragraphs, Arya explains why the United States boycotted the Moscow Olympics in 1980, and the Russians boycotted the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984. He says it is because "this is what happens when national interest is held paramount. And this is what must happen now."

Arya ends by saying that "peace is not a punchline. It is the end result of war." "It's easy to ask for peace when you are a thousand miles away from the Line of Control, and your primary concerns are which party to attend this evening and where to get financing for your next film," reads his post.
