India has suffered a lot more in past years and yet pakistani artists were allowed to come, so in that respect it surely is a non issue.

However, just because something has been going on forever does not mean we do not need to change it.

If it has been led to happen, does not mean if today it is decided they will not let it happen, it is a big deal.

Everyone has a right to say stop, no more. NO matter when they start saying it.

Just because this has been allowed, does not mean it is a non issue and it must be allowed now.

a question.. for someone who has got family in so many defense branches it it strange to know that you are stating defense budget being 60-70 percent and all.
the major chuck of that goes to the likes of DRDO.
And then it gets filtered to the army.

how do i know this.. i happen to have my school friend in army who got shot in kashmir and lost his mate... recently.
so pardon me if i am grateful to him and his army buddies for whatever they are doing for the country and there by for the citizens and not looking for their paychecks.

I did not call you vile. I said that your comment regarding the army was vile. Two completely different things.

Not going to argue further on this topic. But please read your original post again and see why it angered and upset so many people. Now you are singing another tune altogether.

Goodness we aren't North Korea...most of our budgetary spend is on social sector schemes and agriculture and subsidies, especially on fertilizers.

Kindly get your facts right. Our defence expenditure as a % of GDP is around 2% and considering the size and population of our country alongwith the ever present threat from hostile neighbours in North and West is actually on the lower side.

P.S. However much we contribute for our defence personnel is less...same as it is for our farmers. Both are in different situations but equally worthy causes for our attention.

yes ur right both issues are imp i did nt say army unimportant..

they are self sufficient..
what we rather need is a system to see that misuse of their fund
is nt done by greedy politicians..
like the congress sat on funds n did nt order bullet proof jackets for long..
we ordered now bt its nt even one fifth of what we need ..
taking the decision is what matters otherwise the funds are adequate..

Also have you read about one soldier who lost his life in the Uri attack whose family did not have money to do his last rites and borrowed money for it?? If as per you they had a lavish life why were they poor?

Can they become soldiers just by attending this school?

Others plz dont answer. This is only for the self proclaimed vile member who claims she has army background and thinks the compensation of a defence personnels life should actually go to farmers.

then does all holy books not say that karma of past present future makes
us poor or rich..
now why the person who died has to beg money?he died so did his
friends who are just like us willing to rush n donate did they nt offer
themselves?then why did the need to beg arise when so many ppl knows already
in that village that he died saving us including them?

offer money so why did the wife need the feel to beg in first place at all?

Arnab Goswami is the scourge of Indian journalism. Why does he call it a debate when it's really an hour long monologue by him? Garbage.

What I see here is that he didn't allow Mita Vashisht to complete what she was saying (as usual) and tried to shout her down. When she reacted to his 'screeching', he adopted a higher moral ground by pitching it as a battle between arrogant Bollywood liberal and a patriotic army man.

He is preying on public emotions to garner higher TRPs for his show. How hypocritical to say BW people use the army's image to sell their product when he is doing the exact same thing.
He will be laughing his way to the bank while all of us get angry over this issue.

Of course, the show's TRPs are a tribute to the lack of critical thinking in our country. People are driven by jingoism and think that supporting Goswami is some sort of vote in favour of nationalism.
