Anushka Sharma looks like she's about to deliver a career-defining performance, but will the narrative back her up? I hope it doesn't turn out like Tamasha or Katti Batti where it ends up revolving around the guy's story.

Can't wait to see it all unfold.

In Wake up sid, RK falls for Konkona who nowhere looked the same age to Ranbir, and didn't look as gorgeous as Ash does here but still they made me believe about a younger guy falling for an older woman story. And tbh it was much harder in that movie,because sid was just out of college and justification had to be much stronger! :)

I am going to come across as a bitch for saying this, but first it was Ayan who was directing and I think he tells a solid story. So characterization was good. But I can buy Ranbir fell for the Konkana character because he is immature, sheltered and did not have much experience with the world.He is just finding himself. Here is a woman who is independent, sorted and knows herself. I think he fell in love with her qualities as much as herself because she reflected something aspirational to him.

In contrast with ADHM, Ranbir plays a guy with some sort of self awareness, goals, is older and experienced. He is also in love with a beautiful woman of his own age. So for me to buy that he will even go for a physical relationship with a woman, any woman it has to be someone who will be a replacement for someone who is as luminous as Anushka is. I don't think Vidya has the looks that will fit in with a woman like Ash plays. I just cannot imagine Vidya wearing the clothes Ash wears and it fitting that image. I can imagine Sush playing that. It has nothing to do with acting ability, strictly looks only. For me, Vidya is a very traditional looking woman, even in Kahani she looked out of place in slight western clothes, but looked comfortable in sari. She does not carry herself well like Ash does or Sush will in the kind of clothes KJO dresses people.Strictly my opinion and YMMV.

I don't think 'attractive' people don't get attracted to 'unattractive' people. I use these terms loosely, 'cause it's subjective. I think these two groups may not act o nit so often, 'cause they feel it disturbs the status quo.
