Yes. Some of it is true. I spend few days every year camping. Have camped in Alaska, British Columbia and Hong Kong. Hypothermia and Hyperthermia one for cold and one for heat is real issues. You have to layer up and insulate your body or you can get frost bite and lose your fingers or possibly die. People often have to light camp fire to stay warm and sometimes they even sleep close to each other to retain their body heat. In extreme survival you can put their arms under your armpits and hug them so their body internal organs dont shut down.
