Your claim doesnt have evidence...
Ranbir Kapoor is considered the god of acting here (appreciated) and was supposed to overtake the overactors SRK, Salman and Aamir by 2015...

Masses love overacting as well as underacting. No wonder both masala and serious movies work if the script is good.

Ranbir is a good actor but not a versatile one. If his character demands overacting, he falls flat...besharam... or if it demands action, he falls flat...

i doubt he will ever succeed in an action or masala film

My point is people have their own favorites and choices...by saying srk, salman, hrithik overact, fans r being biased... perhaps for their (overactor) fans, they find it normal and like it

A recent example is Neerja, i would not say that sonam overacted but she was just okay, the overall impact of the plot and tragedy was good and that was because of the way the film was executed. Sonam was just okay, her screechy voice still was cringe worthy but in this forum when i read the reviews, people praised her to skies and some even claimed that she will be the top gun now. Even i wondered that is it really possible that sonam had actually performed good but after watching the film i realized that her performance was actually better considering her acting standards, and that was all about it.

A lot of people say Parineeti was good in Ishaqbaaz, but i found her so OTT and annoying in the film, same goes with Kareena in Heroine, nothing worked there.

About actors, most of them do go OTT and esp Khans, HR, Akki and even Ranbir because those who have been unfortunate enough to watch Besharam must know what i mean. worst probably is Ranveer, this guy just made me dislike him so badly in RamLeela that i can never convince myself that he is clean and not OTT onscreen.

I always used to think that Fawad is overrated and how come he is so popular but once i watched him, i really fell for him, his acting is so subtle and there is always a sensitivity and connection even when he is enacting a typical OTT scene, he makes it look easy on eyes, i do prefer Fawad over all the new actors. He probably will never become a solid star in BW due to his nationality and his inhibitions but he is surely one hell of an actor, with bonus looks and a great royal personality offscreen..

so watching one movie u made ur decision he is the worst... in lootera, there is not a shred of overacting... and Ram was a flamboyant OTT character, the character demanded it..
So, tell me which movie should i watch to see Hrithik not overacting...i am also curious

Yes BW actors mostly act loud and exaggerate... Very Broadwayish... That's how it started in old times and we just continued with it... We appreciate loud acting over subtle ones...

Chill Karo plss .. Don't watch HR movies of you find him OTT , I didn't ask u to do so right ? And yes one film is enough to like or dislike an actor at least for me and it's not just about Ramleela i have watched Ranveer in lootera too but that's okay , he wasn't anything extraordinary. That film itself was owner by Sonakshi who is also OTT in all her films , so what's the point ?

And u really didn't need to bring HR here right ? trust me minor that kind of a fan who will go beserk if ppl keeps thrashing him, because I really don't care. But that doesn't make Ranveer any better .. Ranbir and even Fawad is the better actor than that of Tanveer no matter even if they keep flopping .

I feel somewhere the "star" overpowers the "character". And I blame the director in these cases..no matter how big a star is, if he/she cannot get into the skin of the character, it's pointless.. so many of the big names tend to ham thru all their movies and if their directors cannot control it, it goes wrong.. no matter how good or bad a character is, it is the job of the actor to forget themselves and give it life.. a little subtlety is all it takes.. one does not have to shove his/her expressions down our throats..

A couple examples here would be Robert Carlyle and Lana Parilla.. from OUAT..the show has gone to beyond ridiculous, but these two breathe life into their characters..even when they have to chew the scenery in their fairy tale avatars, the "over"acting is controlled.. and here is the director keeping control over them..

Criticism is one thing, hatred is completely another and as a ranveer fan, i have right to defend😊
also if a ranbir or fawad fan had said it, i can understand as they are less overacting actors but Hrithik😆
