what do u all think abut Dil Dhahdkane Do? .. I love that movie .. but i have a slight disagreement .. to show priyanka's suffering they made her husband a typical chauvinist .. and in KANK .. abhisehk was a perfect guy so we term rani as the selfish one .. why cant two perfectly nice and normal people stay unhappy in a relationship? why does one has to be shown a bit ugly .. or is it too difficult to show two perfect people not happy with each othr? ..
Too lazy to read 30+ pages now, so I'm going to jump in from here. 😆
I think it's because it's quite impossible to crop up differences between two people if they're perfect in all ways. Say Rahul's character in DDD was similar to Farhan's and supported Priyanka's ambitions - sooner or later, she would have fallen for him. She tried to make her marriage work, if he got through to her, it would have worked.
Say Rani wasn't selfish and understood Abhishek, she would never have fallen for SRK. Committed people who're 'happy' in their marriage try to make it work because they love the opposite person. Even when unhappy due to a variety of reasons, they would still love those people. Differences come only when they think the other person isn't perfect for them or doesn't understand them.
But I get what you're trying to say. I suppose also, it's the basis on which most relationships break: 'It's not working anymore.' However, it's easier to break up with someone you're dating. Ending a marriage, especially with kids involved, is a whole different level.
