Why do you go to watch a movie? - Page 4

I hardly watch 3-4 movies a year in the theatres. Sometimes, they can be all in the same month/sequential weeks. Nothing to do with the star involved, everything to do with the storyline. If the trailer looks amazing, I often wait for a critical assessment and then decide. Don't remember ever going to 'first day first show' habit in the last so many years.


Usually go with my instinct, which is almost always right.


For HW it's usually the other way round. Watch most of them at home on torrent. 😆 Just caught 'Now You See Me 2' on DVD last week. Now I wish I had watched it in the theatre. Most Western movies release in French where I stay, so that's kind of a bummer. It's annoying not to watch it in the original language and voices.

1) If I find the Trailer interesting enough

2) If its my favorite directors movies - Hirani, Shoojit, Anurag Basu, Sujoy Ghosh, Ayan M, KJo, NP, AG, Farhan/Zoya, etc...I would always prefer to watch their movies in the theater

3) If my favorite actors and actresses are in it.

4) Reviews do matter but I like to watch the movie in 2nd week and form my own opinion... reviews and WOM can be biased or part of negative propaganda nowadays so cannot always trust them.

Hollywood movies- Usually go for any movie my kids want to watch and end up watching most animated movies 😆

Also love to watch HW Sci-Fi movies, comedies, thrillers and Star Wars type of movies on the big screen.
