Why do you go to watch a movie?

Inspired by the public review thread on Baar Baar Dekho.

We saw that probably most of the audience goes to watch the newest release on Friday for entertainment after a long week.

What kind of a moviegoer are you?

Do you wait for reviews and WOM before going to watch a movie?

Do you watch a movie just because your favourite is in it? Will you watch anything for them?

I'll start with myself. I watch very few movies in the theatre of my own volition. Doesn't matter if my favourite actors are in it. If the script doesn't appeal to me, it's a no from my side.

I do not like wasting my money on a movie for the heck of it, 'cause these stars are already overpaid and don't need my monetary affirmation of a mediocre product.

Are you a single screen or multiplex kind of person?

After reading reviews ( good story ) I go that too Gd actors movie

For Bollywood - Because of the stars

If my fav stars are in it then only depending on trailer
If other 'good' actors are there then trailer plus reviews
If unknown actors or actor with suspicious acting skill then wom

Bollywood: Only watch movies of my fav

For hw : nolan , tarantino movie on name and some others on just the word i hear

I wait for good quality to leak on DVD.

For the sole purpose of entertainment...

Bollywood: I wait for reviews. Not newspaper or critics based ones but the ones I hear from friends & reliable twitterati. I don't go watch a movie just coz so & so stars in it. I like a good story and taut direction.


Hollywood: I always watch period dramas. My fav genre. Thrillers too. I also watch a film for stars like Clooney, Pitt, De Niro. Also, I never miss X-men, LOTR sequels, prequels sorta movies. I just have to watch them.
