A Khan and Akshay: Forbes list

The Forbes' list of 10 highest paid actors around the globe is out and it features two Indians. Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar feature on the list at positions 8 and 10 respectively.

The list is topped by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson with a record earnings of $64.5 million (Rs 433 crore). The second on the list is Jackie Chan with earnings of $61 million (Rs 408 crore).

Despite Shah Rukh Khan's last release Fan' bombing at the box office, he is the highest paid actor of Bollywood this year. King Khan's annual earnings amount to $33 million (Rs 222 crore). Shah Rukh shared the eight position with last year's topper Robert Downey Jr.

"Khan continues to rule Bollywood's box office with the lead role in hit Dilwale and many others, earning multimillion dollar upfront fees and a cut of the back-end for his efforts. He also cashes in on endorsement deals for dozens of brands most Americans have likely never heard of," wrote Forbes about Khan.

The Indian actor following SRK on the list is Akshay Kumar. Khiladi Kumar with earnings of $31.5 million (Rs 211 crore) nestles at the tenth position along with actor Brad Pitt. About Akshay, Forbes mentioned that he has given a hattrick of hit movies this year. Airlift', Housefull 3' and Rustom' entered the coveted Rs 100 crore club in 2016.

In the list of top 20 highest paid actors of the globe, two other Indian actors feature.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is at the 18th position with an earning of $20 million (Rs 134 crore). Mentioning about Big B Forbes wrote, Bollywood stalwart has starred in more than 150 movies in a career that spans five decades. The 73-year old is busy as ever: he appeared in four movies during our scoring period.'

Superstar Salman Khan is at the 14th position on the list with a record earnings of $28.5 milion (Rs 191 crore). Salman's last release Sultan' did a worldwide business of over Rs 500 crore.

Of course, most Americans wouldn't have heard of brands because he endorses brands relevant to Indian public/audience. NOT Americans.

Similarly, most Indians wouldn't have heard of brands HW celebs endorse.
