Surrogacy does not contribute to population woes. Besides the one child policy itself was discriminator and has yet since repealed by China. Surrogacy helps out a lot of people who cant have children. It benefits everyone. Not just the parents but even the surrogate. If there is some foul play then government should clamp down on those who did it and not just go on a blanket ban punishing everyone around and trying to tell them how to run their lives. What happens between two consenting adults is none of their business. This country has a lot more pressing issues that needs to be sorted out by government like mismanagement of athletes, pollution of our streams, diseases like malaria and typhoid, nepotism, corruption within the ranks and violence against women.

If it's only women from poor families who are forced into this, then a wiser thing would be to BAN people falling below a certain income level from having children else they'll make the women kids in their house to do anything for money...Like human trafficking, selling them to rich people or becoming surrogate mothers. I know this too wouldn't be right but then banning a cause that helps many families to have their kids like Gay couples is not right at all.

This Govt should now be deprived of taking the law in their own hands and just using the word Ban on everything. One other country exists where tattoos are banned 🤢

Its right thing in parts. Why ban single parents? If one is against homosexuals for whatever reason. Suppose a woman is abandoned or by her husband for not being able to bear a child, why cant she go for it? or if she chose to remain single and is doing well for herself, whats wrong in that.

A more sensible approach would have been to make the accountability of the person demanding surrogacy stringent, like you cannot discriminate on gender, complications, color etc. Once you went into the surrogacy law you are bound to have the child. Abandoning should be made a punishable offence. The whole idea of banning results in disasters since it never addresses the crux of issues.

but India me koi law kaam krta bhi h dhang se? I think banning isliye hua coz its a stricter thing... It has both negative and possitive aspects... The effects of a ban are generally more than passing a simple law or anything coz there is already lot of corruption here..

When the fact is many countries have much stricter laws than India ... But India me koi rule lgta h, everyone starts losing it... 😆

Having the stricter laws makes sense however banning the option of commercial surrogacy for homosexual couples is discriminatory. Adoption laws in India almost make it impossible for homosexual couples to adopt.

Because it isnt discriminatory against single people or homosexuals or any other fine prints. Besides are we really expecting some stranger to do everything pro bono basis without any compensation? Surrogacy it quite complicated in India and the government does charge a lot for fees for it not to mention you must have a wife or husband. They only transplant the eggs it is not full on surrogacy like in other countries done through artificial or natural insemination.
