2. Having 2 kids, major reason is, it's a company. They grow up together. Kids since childhood learn to co-exist and sharing. It's very important factor. Psychology wise.

3. Most couple would want 1 boy n 1 girl. Reason is, 2 different gender can learn to co-exist. Can learn to adjust to each other. Can learn to live and accept each other. When they grow up, opposite gender do not surprise them.

Death can happen to anyone...people cannot make important decisions based on this fact.

how can u be sure if it will be a boy and a girl or both the kids will exist peacefully??

Secondly...the population problem in the country is bigger than people's wants/needs/choices...so why not one?

one of the problems with overpopulation is poverty and increased crime rate then people wonder why there are rapes happening in our country... thats what happens when people listen to their own whims and have 8 or 9 kids and lose track of most of them..

this chalta hai attitude in india really needs to stop...

we need to demand from our government to put this rule... no more screaming "but india is democracy"... for the sake of our kids, grandkids, and future generations this has to be controlled...

I also do not favor multiple marriages allowed based on Religion law. Coz let's say a Rule is to have only 2 kids. Someone married more than once, will have 2 kids with each wife. i.e. Dharmendra. [again, I just gave an example. Please bw lovers, do not make it celeb vs common people]

I support UCC. Universal Civil Code for all.

problem with one is that people will start aborting female babies...

Commercial surrogacy is banned in most developed countries, including Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Sweden, New Zealand and Japan. - Countries who have the blanket ban on Surrogacy.

According to CSR , of the 40,000 children born past decade ( accounted for this survey ) , only 5000 were living with their families now. Rest abandoned.

By ensuring "altruistic surrogacy" , it makes sure Indian couples who are in absolute need can use this services . It reduces risk of abandonment because of high fine and prison time now as well gender bender.

I wish people would read out the finer details of this bill ( which is still in the draft form) and it will undergo massive changes.

Live-ins, single parents need provisions but first they need reforms in basic family laws to come under purview. Please, check the finer details for this.

Homosexuals- Decriminalize first..so that in case the couple have argument/separation there are laws regarding the kids raised by them. You need to first acknowledge them.

Why not 1 child and not 2 - Umm first GOI is not telling you to have a set number of kids, ideally it is your responsibility and it has been running adverts. for decades about 2 kid policy. Secondly it only says if a family has natural born kids and they want more- surrogacy is not a way for them simply because in a world outside of SRKs ( who probably can easily get a loophole here) , lot of people can misuse this services and export out the kids. There is a reason why India was called a hub and has emerged to be a billion dollar industry so soon.

Also, why 2 because of many factors, Nimbu covered some, I will only add economic reasons - China has taken the law off because their "youth" population drastically decreased.

@BI- Yes, sex determination still happens behind the doors...it has drastically reduced but like no system is perfect , it still happens in many parts of India. Obviously, the numbers have drastically reduced.

AIIIMs recently published a list about foeticide and how even in Posh places girl children were either aborted or left away..the numbers still are there.
