bollywood has pretty much been like that since long.80s had more tapori kind of heroes who would chase girls,go to their hostel,cheap double meaning dialogues90s also heroine would always be saying no till hero jumps from somewhere or cuts his veins so heroine got emotional and said yes..

Tell your parents asap. They are experienced and won't mistrust you . Trust your mom. She's not a fool.

To a large extent(minus the brainless exaggeration or masala), movies are a mere reflection of real life.

Now it depends on the audience what to emulate, if they even should in the first place.. or if they should find inspiration from such things.

Having social responsibility on part of filmmakers is an entirely different thing now.

edit -- And, stalking, obsessive stalking has existed waaay before movies were even made.

Ahhh.. valid point.. I think barring Dar, Anjaam and a couple of other movies, stalking has hardly been shown wrong in BW movies.. A pity really

Dealing with stalkers is by avoiding all possible contacts/routes(your way home/work), if you can that is.

I cannot exactly explain but, you just have to be as stubborn as them to avoid them, just find your own ways out.

Talk to your mom properly, tell her you are scared. I'm sure she will understand. If possible take her along with you.. or be on phone with your mom continuously as he is near you and following you.. I'm sure your mom will leave everything in the world to look out for your safety? if he goes as far as threatening you and your mom, then, I'm sure your mom will do something. They know better, they are grown ups..

Sorry if this is happening to you, just try to look after your own safety, and avoid them, be unresponsive to them. Keep your mom/dad/friend on speed dial, take a pepperspray with you, discuss with a friend or a neighbour who can be with you at all times, tell your mom - by sharing with them, you get lot of ideas. Tell your dad or brother.. Men sometimes know how to deal with such things better, especially male parental figures(IMO).. anyway, best wishes!! Hope they give you solutions for this!
