Gopichand is known to be a strict disciplinarian who doesn't allow his students get dazzled because of fame. Saina was very simple when she was with him unlike now which creates a perception of her running after fame. He form has not been consistent after splitting with Gopi and that adds to the whole she loves fame more than country perception. (Which isn't true) she's a pioneer and a champion no one can take that away from her. No matter how good the coach is its the student n its hardwork which make a legendary champion which Saina is.

PS I do personally feel that Sindhu's rise had a hand in Gopi-saina split.

ya saina condition is becos of dumping gopichand is one of d reason including other reasons.ofc good, talented players are necessary n gopichand prepared n polished n bought to light even more prodigies with due respect to saina achievements 👏

VISHAL DADLANIVerified account @VishalDadlani

We're giving Ms. De too much importance. #Sakshi, #PVSindhu have already replied, far better than we can. Talk about winners, not losers!

This is so true..That woman is such an attention seeker..Ppl should stop talking about her and focus on the ones who are winning..On that note, its weird every time i see the Government announcing some prize money or job or whatever after these athletes win..Everything wrong with the system when you get a reward only after you have achieved the impossible with zero help and even after you see these women win, you do nothing to improve the scenario..

BOLD
: I think you are misinformed, almost every athletes who have gone to RIO are Govt. or public sector employees, both Sakshi Malik and Sindhu are Indian Railways employees, even Sindhu's father, who is a former volleyball player, works for Indian Railways !

Saina got No 1 rank after she left Gopichand. Look up her 2015 calendar year performance , she either made it to the top tournaments or won them. Still the highest ranked Indian Badminton Player..so pray tell me where she slacked when she was kicking it till her injuries kicked in this year.

Sad news for NarSingh , WADA didn't give him clean chit-banned for 4 years.

@SG- Almost all athletes get Govt jobs..but the real test is giving them infrastructure, supporting and investing them then. Both the athletes you named have private investors and sponsors who were pooling money, coaches and sponsoring their attendance in various camps.Look up how Parth Jindal is supporting our athletes and financing them.

Sadly, seems like it.

But why so many flip flops. How long do these people need to make up their minds?

In other news, many boxing referees and judges have been banned from Rio. While Indian athletics coach was put in jail for one day for supposed assault just because he got a bit edgy when he wasn't allowed to see his ward OP Jaisha whose heart had stopped.
Some Brazilians are real chutiyas.

Talking about infrastructure, I will hazard a guess as to why Indian Olympics contingent does not match India's rankings in the world economy.
Of course, there's the whole corruption and crony thing going on. But one must realise, that at the end of the day there's the perennial Indian problem of putting academics and "being settled" above everything else, responsible for the lacklustre showing.

Indians are so keen to be settled. Like get up and jiggle a bit people.

Only the poor or army folks compete in athletics and such. Elites try tennis and increasingly badminton but they lack the drive.

I mean imagine a teeny island like GB getting so many medals. Nowadays, cycling is such a big thing there and many upcoming sports as well. Grannies are budding weightlifters now. And people have this fire and hunger to better their PB. They compete against themselves.

In india, mostly they're happy and settled once they land a govt job. There is a little sentiment to win for the country in some of them but no hunger/drive to fight against themselves you know.

Things are changing a bit now with so many city slickers running marathons now. But still the general Indian sentiment is to be "settled" like a bog.

TBH, Saina was a good badminton player and a pioneer in India. Having said that. she doesn't have Sindhu's talent.
Sindhu is an upcoming world no. 1 I would say.

Sakshi Malik won her bout like a champ. And so did Sindhu.

Srikanth may not have won but I will mark this guy too. Lin Dan was truly running for cover and that's saying something.

Dipa is a legend for us.

If our people perform at this level, then medals don't matter. it's better than hoping for a walkover or getting to fight a lesser opponent you know.
